General Summary:

This position is for an experienced WLAN/Embedded system software engineer with strong technology background, problem solving and

communication skills. The daily work could include customer training, issue debugging, testing, WiFi certification and feature development.

The individual will also support customers to integrate Qualcomm WLAN solution into their product and support them from design phase to

mass production. The individual will be interacting with marketing teams, product managers, sales teams, and development teams to resolve

customer issues.

  • Provide the WLAN performance measurement, analysis, and optimization.

  • Help customers to understand Qualcomm WLAN Software architecture and debugging method.

  • Work closely with teams to present and demonstrate features to customers.

  • Issues replication and performance verification.

Minimum Qualifications

  • More than 3-5 years of relevant work experience in embedded software development.

  • Software development experience in one or more general purpose programming languages, such as: C/C++, Java or Python

  • Excellent Linux analytical, programming and debugging skills.

  • Knowledge in 802.11 standard and driver architecture.

  • Familiar with TCP/IP and router stack.

  • Experience developing WiFi features and debugging WiFi issues at the driver level.

  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Communication Engineering or related fields.

  • Excellent verbal and written skills in Chinese and English.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.

  • More than 3-5 years of Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience.

  • 1+ year of work experience in a role requiring interaction with leadership.

  • Experience in a customer-facing role.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Leverages Software Application knowledge to provide technical expertise of software systems through technical presentations in support of business development, customer training, product demonstrations, commercialization, customization, and maintenance of Qualcomm products.

  • Collaborates with teams and customer personnel to identify customer problems, debug issues in customer design software systems, and recommend solutions.

  • Drives system architecture and feature-specific customizations tailored for customer requirements from proof of concept to final product commercial launches.

  • Assesses potential application of company products, prepares product specifications, disseminates technical information on specific software areas, and/or troubleshoots issues regarding software tools and products.

  • Writes detailed product technical documentation, application notes, and FAQs.

Level of Responsibility

  • Works under supervision.

  • Decision-making may affect work beyond immediate work group.

  • Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey information. May require basic negotiation, influence, tact, etc.

  • Has a moderate amount of influence over key organizational decisions.

  • Tasks require multiple steps which can be performed in various orders; some planning, problem-solving, and prioritization must occur to complete the tasks effectively.
