SPECIAL NOTES:

Four (4) years of experience in a relevant field (insurance, business, or data analytics) isrequired. A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university may substitute for the required years of work experience.

Additional requirement:

  • Experience developing charts and grafts using Microsoft office products (Outlook, Word, and Excel).

    Preference s:

  • One (1) or more years of experience using Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, and Excel).

  • One (1) or more years of experience in workers’ compensation.

    Regarding anticipated starting salary, the Division of Workers’ Compensation typically hires at or near the minimum, unless an incumbent possesses direct and relevant experience in the job that they are a candidate for. The Division is prepared to negotiate the salary depending upon the candidates’ direct and relevant experience.

    Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle.

    This position requires a security background check, including finger printing, as a condition of employment.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of various windows-based applications to include Word, Visio, and Excel.

  • Knowledge of process improvement methods, strategies, and techniques.

  • Skills in the areas of research, review, and quality assurance with specific emphasis on administrative processes.

  • Ability to prepare correspondence independently using Microsoft Word applications.

  • Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques.

  • Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures pertaining to a health services program.

  • Ability to conduct fact-finding research.

  • Ability to develop various reports.

  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

  • Ability to collect and analyze and interpret data. Ability to put policies and procedures into practice.

  • Ability to prioritize, plan, organize and coordinate work activities. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

    BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES :

    Design/create and/or assist in the creation of spreadsheets, databases, and other documents to enhance the reporting and tracking capabilities of various sections/programs within the Bureau. Develops and maintains flowcharts/procedure documents of Expert Medical Advisor certification, Non-Payment Complaint, and Health Care Provider non-compliance follow-up.

    Reviews Expert Medical Advisor Certification (EMA) Applications for accuracy and completeness. Ensures each applicant has met minimum training and educational requirements by reviewing and evaluating acceptable forms of documentation according to guidelines established pursuant to laws and rules that govern the certification of physicians as Expert Medical Advisors. Notify applicants of application status and accurately document application deficiencies and requirements into ARAMIS database. Monitor ARAMIS Database and the Division’s Expert Medical Advisor Certification List to ensure certified physicians continuously meet and comply with certification requirements. Initiate actions to revoke certified physicians who no longer meet eligibility requirements for EMA certification. Actively recruit physicians as EMAs. Provide technical assistance regarding EMA Certification to internal and external customers.

    Provide customer service support and assist as needed with carrier payment confirmation responses for reimbursement dispute findings, carrier non-compliance issues, default final orders, the coordination and handling of support functions to include mail, reimbursement dispute petitions and carrier responses as needed.

    Develop and maintain a flow chart/spreadsheet to track carrier non-compliance and report findings to supervisor and Bureau Chief.

    Analyze and identify technical barriers in ARAMIS; determine and recommend action required to obtain accurate measurable outcomes and create monthly and ad hoc reports. Assist in designing and testing database changes. Consult with immediate supervisor/Program Administrator to resolve programmatic and operational issues to ensure ongoing continuous process improvement. Develop reports as needed.

    Follow-up on Final Orders issued by the Division to ensure accurate payment was paid by the carrier.

    Other duties as assigned.
