Overview:

The Florida Gaming Control Commission (FGCC) is a five-member commission appointed by the Governor. The FGCC is charged with investigating and enforcing Florida pari-mutuel and gaming statutes and rules.

The FGCC is searching for a System Project Consultant to support existing applications, cloud solutions, as well as the development, deployment and support for applications used by FGCC. This position will create and maintain reporting mechanisms for agency data and serve as a backup for the agency cloud administrator and application manager. This position reports to the Enterprise and Strategic Applications Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with FGCC leadership to support and implement the applications needed to implement the vision and strategy. Participates in change control, organizational change management and communications for application changes. Develops business relationships to make sure IT objectives align and support business objectives.

  • In-house Development - Aids in the full lifecycle application development or deployment efforts, including testing.

  • Reporting – Creates and maintains reports and necessary mechanisms to facilitate the accurate reporting of agency data, including ad hoc reporting.

  • Monitors the performance, availability, and security of applications, promptly addressing any issues or anomalies.

  • Investigates and resolves technical issues related to applications, reports, and cloud solutions, collaborating with other IT teams or vendors as needed.

  • Implements strategies to enhance data reporting and applications to align with strategic goals.

  • Performs maintenance tasks, as needed, including applying patches, updates, and upgrades to ensure the stability and security of applications.

  • Regularly reviews access controls, user privileges, and authentication mechanisms as needed to mitigate security risks.

  • Maintains accurate documentation related to application configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.

  • Provides technical support to end-users, addressing inquiries, and resolving issues.

  • Provides technical support and guidance to users, assisting with application usage, troubleshooting, and training as necessary.

  • Develops documentation and reporting mechanisms to fulfill agency needs.

    Minimum Requirements:

  • Four (4) years of experience in the duties and responsibilities described above or a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

  • Experience in application administration including deployment, configuration and support.

  • Experience with cloud-based applications and services.

  • Experience in data reporting and analytics.

  • Quality Assurance of services provided and have a continuous improvement plan.

  • Sufficient experience in the duties and responsibilities described above can be considered to satisfy any of the minimum requirements.
