MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in communications, education, instructional systems, or psychology and one (1) year of professional experience in training, education, event planning or staff development.

A master's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in communications, education, instructional systems, or psychology.

Professional or nonprofessional experience as described above can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.

Requires possession of a valid Class E driver license.

JOB DUTIES:

Assists in planning and implementing seminars and workshops to be included in the training programs in the theory and practical application of a variety of treatment and services modalities. Prepares lesson plans, program guides and evaluation tools.

Conducts formal in-person and virtual classroom instruction, seminars, workshops and training courses as facilitator and/or trainer. This may include planning, logistics, set-up, etc.

Assists in conducting needs assessments, gap analyses, surveys, competency assessments and performance assessments. Analyzes data from assessments to provide information and/or recommendations.

Acts as back-up for employee enrollments and troubleshooting calls with the department Learning Management System.

Creates training support materials and activities based on research and industry trends which include, but are not limited to, certificates, flyers, folders, presentations, online course content, booklets. Conducts necessary research in association with the creation and procurement of training materials. Distributes materials and manages subsequent communication.

Assists with contracts and fiscal management of the Professional and Organizational Development section. Prepares requisitions for procurement of supplies or services. Maintains a record of all contracts entered by the section. Enters information into the Administrative Image Management System (AIMS) as required. Compiles and researches information when necessary for section contracts or purchases. Processes invoices/transactions for the section assuring compliance with department policy and procedure.

Reviews and processes purchasing card transactions for the section. Audits and logs in the section’s transaction files.

Participates in staff conferences and curricula development to develop and improve training programs.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to plan, organize and support program activities

  • Ability to respond quickly to changing priorities/deadlines

  • Ability to work well in a high-volume and fast-paced team work environment

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks

  • Ability to manage general office needs and activities (filing, copying, etc.); ability to learn and develop new skills within the work environment.

  • Ability to work beyond a normal eight-hour day in order to accomplish necessary training program objectives

  • ability to carry, load, transport, and set up audio/visual resources, classroom materials.

  • Competency in presentation/graphic software and programs including Articulate Storyline, Articulate Presenter, Adobe Captive, Adobe Presenter, Adobe Dreamweaver, Adobe Premier, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Creative Suites.

  • Intermediate to advanced skill level with each of the following software: Microsoft Office Suite programs including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Publisher, SharePoint, Outlook, WebEx, Citrix or other virtual meeting software.

  • Skill with preparing, editing, and proofing written materials.
