ICP Group Assistant Credit Manager in Tampa, Florida
Innovative Chemical Products Group (ICP Group) is a leading formulator and manufacturer of specialty coatings, adhesives, and sealants serving the building and construction end markets. ICP Group is headquartered in Andover, MA and Tampa, FL and has manufacturing and distribution sites in the US, Canada, the UK, Australia and Japan.
ICP Group is looking to hire a hands-on Assistant Credit Manager with experience managing the following business processes: new customer set up, invoicing, credit assessment, collections and cash application. This role will support the activities of the Accounts Receivable department supporting the North American businesses, collaborate across functions to build strong customer relationships, a cohesive finance organization and ensure efficient business processes. The role ensures that Company procedures and policies are followed and that Company financial goals are met.
This role offers a hybrid work schedule, based in Tampa, FL
Responsibilities :
Leadership and Management:
Provide leadership support to the Accounts Receivable Manager and be able to make credit decisions and communicate with key members of the finance team
Supervise and provide training and development for team members and work closely with the AR Manager to reach department goals and KPI’s
Accounts Receivable Operations:
Manage collections and monitor accounts to ensure timely payments
Ensure timely and accurate invoicing, collections and cash application
Conduct credit analysis and assess Credit worthiness of potential customers
Report preparation, spreadsheets and other ad hoc reports as needed
Set up new customer accounts
Work with sales, Customer Service and collaborate with various members of the finance team
Customer Relations:
Handle complex billing issues and resolve customer queries and disputes.
Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers to facilitate timely collections.
Develop strong relationships with internal sales team and sales leaders.
Negotiate payment plans with customers when necessary and manage correspondence with third party collections agencies.
Financial Goals:
Work with AR Manager to set achievable aging targets and financial goals.
Identify and escalate at risk accounts.
Analyze accounts for bad debt
Policy and Procedure Management and Compliance:
Develop, train, and enforce policies and procedures which are aligned with Company policies, Delegation of Authority and regulatory requirements.
Prepare for and participate in internal and external audits.
Systems and Technology:
Work with key stakeholders to manage, test, maintain and recommend system and technology enhancements.
Experience with ERP Systems. Syspro and Sage experience is a plus
Experience needed:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in accounts receivable or related financial roles with proven experience in AR and Collections.
Proficiency in accounting software, Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel) and ERP Systems.
Experience with sales tax and exemption certificates.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to prepare and present AR reports and ad Hoc reporting to management
High level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information.
Occasional travel may be required for meetings or training.
