Shift Hours: M - F hours Vary

The FEMA Project COPE - Crisis Counselor Lead is responsible for:
Training, debriefs, and provides supervision to teams of Crisis Counselors in the field working with individuals, families and groups to provide outreach, emotional support, individual and group crisis interventions, public education, and linkage to needed referrals.
Representing the program in the community and networks with other agencies and partners to ensure the needs of the survivors are met.
Providing presentation to community groups on disaster reactions, coping skills and stress management. and performs crisis counseling as needed.
Using data to conduct ongoing needs assessment, coordinates data collection activities, reviews data forms submissions for accuracy, and provides coordination and oversight of crisis counselors' plans of service.
*Travel is required throughout the assigned county. Mileage reimbursement is provided at the federal rate.
Experience:
1 year of substance use and/or behavioral health preferred.
1 year of trauma and disaster behavioral health response who supervises paraprofessional counselors - Preferred
Required Certification/License:
BLS (Basic Life Support) within 60 days
Driver's License
Required Education:
- Bachelors degree in human services or related field.
