Responsibilities

As a Manager, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience, helping our clients solve their complex business issues from strategy to execution. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Proactively assist in the management of a portfolio of clients, while reporting to Senior Managers and above

  • Be involved in the financial management of clients

  • Be actively involved in business development activities to help identify and research opportunities on new/existing clients

  • Contribute to the development of your own and team’s technical acumen

  • Develop strategies to solve complex technical challenges

  • Assist in the management and delivering of large projects

  • Train, coach, and supervise staff

  • Keep up to date with local and national business and economic issues

  • Continue to develop internal relationships and your PwC brand

We are seeking an experienced talented and passionate Hadoop / Spark / Big Data software engineers with deep understanding of large scale distributed data processing applications and Java technologies to join our Assurance Innovation team.

Experience Preferred:

Demonstrates thorough knowledge and/or a proven record of success in the following areas:

  • Administer ELT and ETL solutions focused on moving data from highly diverse data landscape into a centralized data lake;

  • Performing Enterprise Data Lake administration, application scaling, performance evaluation, and architecture suggestions;

  • Proven experience in administering Big Data Pipelines in a Hadoop Ecosystem using Kafka, Hive, Hive w/Tez, HDFS, HBase, and Spark on Yarn (Hortonworks HDP preferred);

  • Proved experience in attribute-based security systems. Atlas/Ranger, Colibra, etc.;

  • Ensure scalability and high availability, fault tolerance, and elasticity within big data ecosystem;

  • Experience managing a Data Lake using either Hortonworks HDP, Cloudera or AWS EMR/S3;

  • Ninja level understanding of Data Management, Data Lakes, Data Warehousing, IaaS to SaaS in essence the complete stack;

  • Hands on with HDFS, Zookeeper,Ambari, Ranger, Kerberos, Apache NiFI Data Pipelines, Managing cost/elasticity on Cloud;

  • Data lifecycle manager a product that hortonworks we have them implementing it.

  • Applying full stack development with comfort and familiarity of continuous integration tooling such as Docker, Jenkins, Chef, and Puppet.

Skills Preferred:

Proven extensive abilities and/or a proven record of success in the following areas, preferably for the US risk assurance practice of a global network of professional services consulting firms:

  • Creating physical architecture documentation, assisting in project planning, and leading staff in the operations of complex systems;

  • Building and orchestrating multiple clusters across a distributed enterprise cloud architecture built for scalability and performance;

  • Experience in Agile development including Scrum and other lean techniques;

  • Experience with performance optimization for Spark & Hive SQL Workloads;

  • Understanding of “Build, Ship, Monitor” philosophy.
