General Summary

State Representative Karen Gonzalez Pittman is now accepting applications in her Tampa, Florida office to assist with a variety of administrative and public relations matters requiring a thorough understanding of the policies, procedures, and operating practices of the Florida Legislature.

FINANCIAL DISCLOSURE: Pursuant to sections 112.3144 and 112.3145, F.S., this position is required to electronically file aForm 1 – Statement of Financial Interests (https://disclosure.floridaethics.gov/2023/form/1/instructions/print) with the Florida Commission on Ethics within 30 days of hire.

    Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Knowledge and application of House Rules, Protocol, House-specific Applications, House Administrative Policies and the Legislature’s Joint Policies and Procedures.

  • Calendar and Scheduling

  • Constituent Management

  • Legislative Research

  • Legislative Process

  • Public Relations and Press Releases

  • Stakeholder Relations

  • Designated Tallahassee Staff during Committee Weeks and Session and Travel System

  • Mandatory Trainings as Assigned

    Minimum Qualifications

    An Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university and two years of administrative experience.

Professional administrative experience can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.

Salary

Annual salary: $45,444

Excellent employee benefits.

This position is not eligible for remote work.
