JPMorgan Chase Trade & Working Capital Operations - Head of Standby Letters of Credit Operations - Vice President in Tampa, Florida

You are an experienced Standby Letter of Credit Manager with 15 or more years of Trade experience, strong business knowledge on Trade products, processes and system knowledge and seeking the next step in your career. This is the team for you.

As a Trade & Working Capital Operations - Head of Standby Letters of Credit Operations - Vice President in the Corporate and Investment Bank at JPMorgan Chase, you will manage the day to day operational activities for the Standby/Guarantee functional team. You will need comprehensive knowledge of Uniform Customs and Practice for Documentary Credits (UCP 600), International Standby Practices (ISP98), and Guide to International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Uniform Rules for Demand Guarantees (URDG 758), Boycott regulations, Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) compliance, and strong decision-making capability.

You will analyze processes, identify improvement areas, and suggest/execute the action plan to improve efficiency and turnaround time. You will also support managers in driving efficiency into the process model by bringing in the best practice after detailed analysis of process. This includes but not limited to assessing service quality and identifying areas for process improvement, service, or tech initiatives. You will also develop and exercise business plans and internal procedures, while demonstrating the ability to lead projects, offer innovative solutions and cost efficiency opportunities.

Job Responsibilities

  • Analyze processes and identify improvement areas and suggest/execute action plan to improve efficiency and turnaround time

  • Support Management in spurring efficiency into the process model by bringing in the best practice after detailed analysis of process. This includes but not limited to assessing service quality and identifying areas for process improvement, service or tech initiatives

  • Manage crisis situations through proper escalation matrix and motivate team

  • Develop and implement business plans and internal procedures and demonstrate an ability to lead projects, offer innovative solutions and cost efficiency opportunities

  • Support a wide range of stakeholders including Product, Sales, Client Service, Partner site and Tech Support

  • Build effective relationships with management and internal stakeholders

  • Monitor daily Service Level Agreements, Productivity, Hold items and suggest recommendation for improvement

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • 15 years of experience in Trade, Strong business knowledge on Trade products, processes and system knowledge

  • Leadership and staff development skills with prior team management experience

  • Analytical skills with the ability to anticipate issues and spur initiatives

  • Skilled in identifying talent, recruiting, coaching, mentoring and developing team members

  • Ability to develop strategy for end to end solutions and process oriented

  • Reasonable understanding of operational risks and related controls, audit and internal control framework. Ability to develop and implement comprehensive systems to spur organizational improvements

  • Confidence to challenge, and be challenged, whilst remaining a positive 'can-do' outlook

  • Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills with the ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with business and technical parts of the organization
