Regeneron Pharmaceuticals Associate Scientist (Neuroscience) in Tarrytown, New York

This Associate Scientist will support preclinical research efforts in Neurodegenerative and Neurodevelopmental disorders within our collaborative and dynamic Neuroscience Therapeutic Focus Area. The selected individual will conduct laboratory experiments to probe mechanisms of disease, establish models and endpoints of disease, and evaluate efficacy of potential therapeutic treatments.

Primary duties may include in vivo studies that involve handling live rodents, such as performing behavioral studies, injections, surgeries and sample collection; in vitro studies using cell lines, primary tissues, or iPSC-derived cells; collection and processing of tissues using biochemical, molecular, and/or immune-based assays; evaluating images using confocal microscopy or other imaging tools; compiling, analyzing, and graphing data; and presentation of results.

As an Associate Scientist, a typical day might include:

  • Planning, initiating, and completing the following types of in vivo assays: standardized behavioral tests, injections, rodent surgeries, sample collections

  • Planning and conducting in vitro experiments using cell lines, primary cultures, or iPSC-derived neurons

  • Planning, initiating, and completing the following types of biochemical, molecular, and immune-based assays: ELISAs, western blotting, immunohistochemistry, RT-qPCR

  • Learning new methods and/or technologies relevant to various projects

  • Accurately documenting findings and lab records in an electronic laboratory notebook and as soft copies

  • Presenting data in formal and informal meetings.

  • Becoming proficient with compiling, analyzing, and graphing data

To be considered for this role , you must have a minimum of a BS/MS (preferred) or 3-5 years of relevant experience (such as laboratory experience in physiological psychology, cellular or molecular biology, neuroscience, or a related biological science). Experience with animal models of brain disorders, behavioral testing experience, tissue preparation, molecular techniques, and/or cell culture are highly desirable. Level is commensurate with experience.

Salary Range (annually)

$68,000.00 - $106,400.00
