Morgan Stanley EDD (Enhanced Due Diligence) Operations - Team Manager (VP) in Temple Terrace, Florida

We're seeking someone to join our team as a Team Manager in Wealth Management Operations to join the Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) Operations Team. The EDD Operations Team is considered the first line of defense supporting the onboarding and due diligence processes for Morgan Stanley clients. The team is responsible for identifying, collecting, and ensuring all documentation and information associated with higher risk client types has been received in good order.

In the Operations division, we partner with business units across the Firm to support financial transactions, devise and implement effective controls and develop client relationships. This is a Team Manager position at Vice President level within the Client Service & Relationship Management, which is responsible for managing internal and external client relationships. We do this by engaging in client service activities, optimizing the client experience, and managing vendor/external business partner relationships.

What you'll do in the role: - Develop staff, lead projects and control deployment of resources, owning management tools/methods such as work queues, checklists, depth charts and calendars - Set direction and expectations for your team(s), defining training plans and transfer of expert knowledge to contribute to team output and development - Contribute to business plan for area, establish risk/contingency plans, raise and address issues with urgency when required - Build and manage relationships with business unit partners, other Morgan Stanley infrastructure departments, and external contact points in Client or Market organizations

  • Lead key projects and initiatives related to increasing efficiencies and reducing operational risks in support of the firm's EDD program.
  • Partner with the Second Line of Defense Global Financial Crimes Compliance teams to monitor client relationships on an ongoing basis and ensuring compliance with regulatory expectations.
  • Manage processes set up to complete Enhanced Due Diligence for Wealth Management and US Banks clients including reviewing customer data and documentation to satisfy BSA/AML Compliance requirements.

  • Partner with the Business Units, including Private Bankers, Lending Advisors, and Branch Risk Officers, to ensure appropriate client on-boarding due diligence processes are enacted while providing a positive client experience.

What you'll bring to the role: - Strong relationship building skills serving as a role model for client service - Ability to think commercially, understand the impact of initiatives, risks on the operational budget - Experience in managing teams, enhancing control, continuous improvement and reducing operational risk - Culture carrier and role model, representing and leading the Firm's core values to influence and motivate those around you

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the compliance and regulatory frameworks that apply to financial institutions.
  • Drafting and updating procedures and desktop guidance related to the client onboarding process.
  • Managing data and trend analysis related to the source of wealth review process and providing reporting to relevant stakeholders.
  • Have 7 years of relevant experience with BSA/AML Regulations within the financial services industry, or at a financial services regulator (e.g., FINRA, Securities and Exchange Commission, Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, Federal Reserve Bank, etc.)
  • Have an undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, or other related fields.
  • Strong knowledge of Know Your Customer, Customer Identification Program and EDD requirements.
  • Must obtain Series 99 license if supervising a covered function
