JOB DUTIES:

  • Full oversight for regulated fuels services and compliance for Fuels North America. Additional Training responsibilities as assigned.

  • Subject matter expert in fuels inspection and testing for regulatory compliance related to 19 CFR 151, 40 CFR 80, 40 CFR 1090, API, ASTM and others as applicable.

  • Remain aware of developments in the fuels compliance field through appropriate materials, literature, resources, and meetings. Apply operational and lab knowledge to improve process within company supplied systems SORBY, OneTrade, CompliantPro, NEXUS. iEvaluate, PTPDMS. Provide operational knowledge, leadership and support to the business for regulatory compliance related services.

  • Work closely with colleagues and interested parties regarding the interpretation and implementation of elements of the company Quality Management System and/or subject regulations, resolve differences, and ultimately ensure that the system is understood and applied uniformly.

  • Perform remote and on-site assessments of organizational sites to determine conformance with and ensure compliance to company requirements, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.

  • Participate and assist in internal and external audits.

  • Identify risks and opportunities and provide direction and assistance to implement actions and improvements to Process addressing the needs locally and organizationally.

  • Develop, improve, and implement practices, tools, and training for field and laboratory sites to meet and exceed business, quality, and compliance requirements. Will be creating and asked to complete short and long term strategic initiatives.

  • Carry out the above responsibilities, and all others that may be assigned, in a manner demonstrating support for and adherence to the Company’s policies and procedures, vision and strategy, and to exercise good judgment, organiztion, common sense, and diplomacy in so doing.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, or related technical discipline.

  • 5+ years minimum experience in a technical/quality leadership/management role within the testing, inspection, certification industry or similar business with strict quality and regulatory requirements.

  • Successful track record of quality management and execution with demonstrated sustainable performance.

  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of ISO 9001, ISO 17025, 40 CFR 80, 40 CFR 1090, API, ASTM, EN, ISO methodologies and/or similar standards.

  • Well organized, disciplined and self-motivated, with the capability to balance multiple priorities in a very high-paced environment.

  • Metrics driven and a solid decision maker.

  • Proficient in common business, testing, inspection, and certification applications.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: The employee shall possess the ability to read, interpret, write reports, business correspondence, procedures, and test methods. Shall possess the ability to effectively speak and present technical information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Capable of performing all calculations required for the management and operations of the inspection and laboratory businesses. Able to read, understand and analyze statistical analysis. 3

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to apply common-sense understanding to complex situations and able to prepare and/or follow instructions in written, oral, or diagrammatic form.

CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS, AND LICENSES: Valid driver’s license required. Lean Six Sigma, Project Management, and/or other continuous improvement certifications desirable.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those and employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and with explosive material and can be regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to risk of radiation. When required, the proper personal protective equipment shall be used, accordingly. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. The employee shall be available on short notice to travel to any Bureau Veritas office or laboratory in the process of providing project or business support. The travel related to work shall be dependent upon Bureau Veritas’s business requirements.
