Ensuring Chart’s Success…

Business Development Manager (BDM), LNG represents the interface between the company and our clients and build relationships with them to help them achieve their goals. The BDM understands Chart’s products, technology and solutions portfolio and is able to articulate them into a compelling value proposition for clients. BDM’s are expected to travel regularly, develop client relationships, identify opportunities, generate leads, manage the internal sales team on specific opportunities, present Chart’s solutions to the clients, negotiate commercial terms and drive revenue and margin for Chart’s business. Position is located in the Houston, TX area.

What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be…

  • Originate new sales opportunities through broad engagement with LNG industry through the identification of existing and emerging trends, customers, developers, and other key stakeholders in the industry.

  • Maintain and grow relationships with senior business contacts of existing customers and identify and cultivate relationships with potential new customers.

  • Actively participate in the development and refinement of long-term growth strategies and business models, while identifying and evaluating emerging trends, the competitive environment, and overall business forecasts.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for our customers and act as a trusted advisor to support their growth and success.

  • Lead and provide direction, strategy, and overall coordination for the internal sales and technical teams that enable comprehensive and responsive solutions to drive win-win sales.

  • Establish and maintain key customer relationships to offer expanded product portfolio.

  • Identify future project opportunities through understanding of customers and markets, researching additional applications of Chart equipment, and cold calling of potential customers.

  • Conduct presentations, lunch and learns of products and services and represent Chart at trade shows.

  • Drive successful closure of opportunities while coordinating the resources to support complex commercial contracts, including the negotiations, definition of scope of supply, and all technical details during the inquiry to order cycle.

  • Collaborate in the development of responsive proposals and follow-up clarifications to requests for proposals (RFPs)

  • Maintain and track sales opportunities in CRM tool.

Your Education Should Be…

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related field. Master’s Degree a plus.

Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…

  • 30-50% travel required

  • Standing, sitting, lifting up to 50 lbs

  • Ability to walk through client production locations

Your Professional Experience Should Be…

  • Thorough understanding of the LNG industry and Chart’s products, technologies, and services

  • 5 or more years of sales experience in comparable industries

  • Experience with technical sales, engineering specifications, pricing and negotiations
