Industrial Air Flow Dynamics, Inc. is seeking an engineering manager to lead our team of project engineers at our office in The Woodlands, TX. This is an opportunity to join a growing company that will offer exposure to challenging, diverse, and mission-critical projects. During plant outages, discovery projects pop up continuously; we are building our engineering team to support these rapid repairs as they develop.

With over 20 years of experience, Industrial Air Flow Dynamics is the premier field service group in the power generation industry and the leading provider of replacement expansion joint systems, penetration seal systems, and HRSG duct/liner replacement systems. We provide our power plant and utility customers with turn-key solutions driven by our engineering expertise. Our engineering team diagnoses the root cause of the problem and improves the OEM design, then our manufacturing team will build the required products, and our field services team will complete the on-site installation.

As the engineering manager at IAFD you will oversee the planning, designing, and execution of engineering projects, as well as collaborating with other managers and clients as needed to ensure the efficiency of all engineering processes. You will be responsible for our team of project engineers on all tasks which include but are not limited to the design of IAFD product assembly's individual components, generating engineering prints, creating the job bill of materials, take-offs, and supporting the field service needs. You will ensure that all work is completed in accordance with the specified deadline. Our engineering team is integral in scoping repairs for plants and assisting directly in defining bid scope for our sales team.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead a team of project engineers providing guidance, mentorship, and direction to ensure that all projects are delivered on time and within budget.

  • Oversee the planning, implementation, and tracking of all projects.

  • Continuously evaluate engineering processes for inefficiencies and make recommendations for improvement.

  • Identify potential risks in projects and implement preventative measures to mitigate them.

  • Ensure all projects comply with the necessary regulations and quality standards.

  • Effectively allocate resources, including personnel and materials to ensure project deadlines are met consistently.

  • Work closely with other department leaders to ensure coordination across project teams.

  • Provide detailed engineering status reports to upper management as required.

  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.

  • Travel may be required to learn about our products and environment, as needed.

    Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from a (4) year accredited college.

  • 10+ years of engineering experience, industry related experience is desired.

  • Knowledge of engineering principles, manufacturing processes, and industry.

  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.

  • Results-oriented mindset with a keen attention to detail.

  • Must be willing to work in a fast-paced environment with tight timelines.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Must be able to shift priorities and multitask as needed.

  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
