Thermopolis Police Department Communications Officer in Thermopolis, Wyoming

The Thermopolis Police Department is accepting applications for the position of Communications Officer. This position is the hub of radio and other communications for patrol officers during routine and emergency situations. A Communications Officer sets priorities, disseminates information, answers telephones and radio traffic, dispatches emergency service units, documents and maintains records, and operates a variety of office and other equipment of the communications center. This person must possess a desire to be helpful, ability to think clearly and act promptly, and multi-task rapidly and consistently. The ability to communicate effectively and to speak clearly and distinctly is desirable. Must have a working knowledge of computers and the ability to maintain a certificate as a Notary. This position can go from 0 to 100 in a matter of seconds, working with multiple screens and various computer programs. Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent, pass a physical and psychological exam, and pass a criminal and personal background check.
