In operation since 1971, the Ticonderoga Mill produces high end printing and technical papers harvested from Adirondack and Vermont forests. With over 600 dedicated employees focused on safety, environment, quality and production, we operate and monitor various pulping and papermaking processes and systems.

This is a key leadership position of the Paper Department reporting to the Business Unit Manager. The selected candidate will provide overall leadership and direction for all activities concerning the safe and efficient operation of #7 Paper Machine.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and coordinate safe operations of the #7 Paper machine through the Area Management Team and utilization of resources throughout the Mill.

  • Promote sustainable continuous improvement in safety and production through manufacturing excellence methods and work systems utilization including 5S, TCC’s, Best Practices, A3’s, etc.

  • Provide leadership in a goals oriented environment to deliver targeted results in the areas of safety, environmental compliance, quality, productivity, employee engagement, manufacturing and reliability excellence.

  • Drive for positive labor relations within the Paper Department.

  • Strategic planning for improved #7 Paper Machine performance and the efficient management of resources during machine outages and upgrades.

  • Performance management and development of salaried and hourly team member for #8 Paper Machine. Ability to set clear expectations and standards of performance through effective one-on-one performance evaluations and discussions.

  • Provide off hours support to operations when process upsets occur as well as participating on a rotating weekend call team.

  • Establish and maintain a collaborative environment within Mill Teams

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Requires a BS degree in engineering. Technical degree in Pulp / Paper Science, Chemical Engineering preferred.

  • Candidate must have previous experience in Pulp/Paper Production with proven progressive leadership within a Mill Manufacturing environment.

The base compensation range for this position is$96,000.00 to $174,600.00per year. Your actual base salary will be determined based upon a number of factors which may include relevant experience, skills, location (labor market data), credentials (education, certifications), and internal equity.
