Sensata Technologies, Inc. Global Trade Compliance Specialist - Mexico in Tijuana, Mexico

The Compliance Administrator plays a critical role ensuring that an organization adheres to legal standards maintaining regulatory compliance and mitigating risks. This position is accountable for developing, maintaining, and administering the internal customs inventory control system used by Sensata Mexico sites to comply with inventory database management regulations and government reporting as established in Annex 24 and Annex 30 of Mexican Foreign Trade Rules.

General Responsibilities

  • Develops and updates compliance policies and procedures in accordance with laws, regulations, and industry standards.

  • Implements and enforces policies across the organization.

  • Conducts regular audits to ensure adherence to compliance standards.

  • Monitors organizational activities to identify potential compliance issues.

  • Prepares and presents audit reports with findings and recommendations for improvement.

  • Identifies and manages compliance risks within the organization.

  • Develops strategies to mitigate identified risks

  • Stays current with changes in laws, regulations, and industry standards..

  • Ensures that the organization adapts to new regulatory requirements promptly.

Experience / Qualifications

  • A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience.

  • Ability to lead, coach, and develop team members

  • Holds self and others accountable to achieving goals and standards

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to handle multiple competing tasks and demands

  • Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation

  • Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)

  • Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers

Additional Details:

  • Maintain complete administration of Sensata’s internal customs inventory control system (Annex 24) utilized by the import and export operation and accurate and reconciled against official Mexican Customs report (Data Stage).

  • Review, audit, validate and correct the necessary information to maintain an accurate master catalog of items into the Annex 24 such as value, HTS codes, description, unit of measure, country of origin, etc.

  • Perform analysis of data and manage a monthly Bill of Materials (BOM) explosion process of materials and components temporarily imported into Mexico through the inventory control system.

  • Present monthly discharges & reconciliation reports and results to management and take the appropriate actions to be able to keep the inventory balances accurate and correct.

  • Track, Manage and Prepare the discharge and reconciliation reports and processes for obsolete materials, consumption of materials, components and machinery, and submit the report through the Government portal (SAT portal) as required by Annex 30 of the Foreign Trade Laws.

  • Track and report open balance inventory, reconciling physical inventory on a monthly basis as registered in Oracle. Track and control scrap through the inventory control system (Annex 24).

  • Validate the unit cost, landed cost and computed cost quarterly.

  • Support the trade compliance supervisor and/or other trade compliance management with reports and information from the customs inventory control system.

  • Gather information and prepare periodic updates and metrics reports for import and export operations as needed.

System Requirements:

  • Must have exceptional data analysis skills, solid SQL proficiency and strong knowledge of database tables required.

  • Trade compliance and IMMEX regulations experience strongly preferred.

  • Working knowledge of Oracle or other ERP system desirable.

  • Minimum 5 Years of trade compliance experience managing discharges in Annex 24 systems.
