Permobil, a leading assistive technology manufacturing company, is seeking an Embedded Software engineer to join the Embedded Software Development team. This role is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of mobility and independence for individuals who use our products and services. One of our responsibilities is to secure compliance with international standards for medical technology.

As anEmbedded Software engineer, you’ll work within multi-processor solutions using real-time operating systems and embedded Linux, developing software that implements various features in wheelchairs, using tools like Jira and Gitlab. The entire system design is complex, and you’ll start your career by focusing on specific functions, gradually gaining a broader understanding of the entire system design. With the whole system architecture - including mechanics, electronics, and cloud services – we offer you a creative and problem-solving everyday work life.

Key responsibilities

Work with a multiprocessor solution and refine and implement software features in C and C++.

Collaborate in agile project development teams throughout the entire software development lifecycle.

Qualifications and Skills

You have a passion for software development and expertise in C and C++

Bachelor- or master’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, mechatronics, or another related field.

Basic understanding and interest in hardware.

Proficient in both spoken and written Swedish and English, as it is required for communication and documentation.

It is meritorious if you have:

Previous experience in working in Jira and Gitlab

You have previous experience in software development for medical devices or other

safety critical products
