Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Junior Data Centre ICT Engineer to join our team. This position involves supporting the team in meeting Customer Specific Service Level/KPI Agreements, contributing to the development and successful operation of the Managed Services function, and working with colleagues to develop and implement departmental strategy, objectives, and improvement processes. The role requires availability to work on a shift Rota basis covering 24 hours a day, 365 days per year, and to support other team members when needed. The DCS Improver will work closely with the DCS Shift Lead/Engineer to ensure requests are delivered within expected timelines, and will maintain positive relationships with customers to promote the company's image

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to the rules and regulations as documented in the standards concerning Buildings and Communications rooms.

  • Liaise with DCS Lead and Shift technicians to gain an understanding of all associated process/procedures for the contract.

  • Liaise with DCS Lead and Shift technicians to gain an understanding of all installation, decommission, testing requirements associated to the contract.

  • Ensure that the correct uniform is worn at all times and if additional items are required then notify the DCS SDM or Contract support team.

  • Ensure that emails and job queues are checked on a regular basis and actioned where necessary and completed within timeframes.

  • Carry out racking/stacking, patching, break fix tasks, decommissioning, infrastructure installations, cabinet modifications and hardware tasks as per relevant procedure documents.

  • To perform any other duties within your skill set as delegated by your Line Manager

  • Ensure awareness and compliance to the contractual KPI’s/SLA’s is undertaken

  • 1-2 years of experience in data centre maintenance and repair, including experience with troubleshooting and resolving issues related to the data centre's physical and network infrastructure or relevant experience.

  • Experience with server and storage hardware and software, network devices, and other data centre equipment or relevant experience.

  • Knowledge of network protocols and security best practices.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Business English and Business/Conversational Japanese

2 Shifts Monday- Saturday

7:00-16:00 / 12:30-21:30

Location

Toyosu: 5 min on foot from Shin-Toyosu Station

Kawasaki: 20min on foot from Tama-Plaza Station
