Morgan Stanley Operational Risk and Regulatory Control, VP, Tokyo in Tokyo, Japan
We’re seeking someone to join our team as a VP within Risk, Regulatory & Resilience, which performs various independent functions to ensure adequate controls are in place. We do this by providing an integrated risk and control framework to govern, assess, mitigate and manage financial and operational risk in Operations.
In the Operations division, we partner with business units across the Firm to support financial transactions, devise and implement effective controls and develop client relationships, driving strategic automation solutions by embracing a transformation mindset and challenging the status quo.

What you’ll do in the role:
- Risk incident follow ups with line teams and Operational Risk Department (ORD) (Ad-hoc)
- MSMS Ops RCSA summary submission to ORD (Annual)
- Work as a delegate for Third Party outsourcing governance/Info Sec Ops rep (Monthly)
- Vault management (ad-hoc/Annual attestation initiation)
- Payment System entitlement control/administration (Ad-hoc)
- Distribute a regulatory notice received from Compliance to relevant line teams (Daily)
- Provide a relevant data and information for a regulatory inquiry, survey, and external inspection to Compliance.(Ad-hoc)
- Face-off with regulator or compliance in case of external inspection. Coordinate and facilitate among Ops teams for necessary actions.(Ad-hoc)
- Manage FMI Entitlement control (Ad-hoc)
- Conduct the Annual Yakkan Review (Annual)
- Conduct the Annual Exercise for Personal Information Protection (PIP) Self-Inspection (Annual)
What you’ll bring to the role:

- Have proficiency with English and Japanese - Fluent in written and spoken communications
- Have proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
- Have knowledge of Japan regulatory reporting
- Have experience in technology related project
- Have middle or back office experience
- At least 6 years’ relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role
