What's the role?

The Company Financials team provides our clients with fast and accurate market-moving data so they can stay on top of their game: broker estimates, financial filings, and any other dataset that is useful to understand financial performance in the markets. Our products run on intelligence and industry-specific insights provided by the industry teams. We combine financial modeling, industry expertise, data management, and technical skills to curate critical metrics and drive insights from our data.

We are dedicated to crafting a best-in-class financial analysis and modeling product while constantly looking to enhance and expand our existing offering through a deep understanding of the markets we operate in, the sectors we cover, and our clients current and future needs.

The Company Financials Workflow team is looking for a Senior Data Management Professional who can combine deep subject matter expertise and advanced technical skills to acquire, validate, store, protect, and model comprehensive financial data which is accessible to our clients across various Bloomberg platforms. You are expected to take advantage of these knowledge and skills to drive workflow strategies, deliver best-in-class user and technical workflows and better incorporate humans in the automation pipelines that eventually help shape and build fit-for-purpose Company Financials products. Coupled with good communication and stakeholder management skills, you will also be working very closely with partners across PD&T, including Product Managers, Engineering teams as well as other Company Financials Industries, Markets and Cross-function teams to meet the needs of our external and internal clients.

We'll trust you to:

  • Proactively analyze processes with data to identify workflow opportunities and ensure our datasets are fit-for-purpose

  • Gather feedback from internal and external workflow users including clients, vendors and global company financials teams

  • Engage with Business/Data Product Managers and Engineering teams to strategize, prioritize and plan roadmaps in the global landscape

  • Supervise the development lifecycle including design, optimize, test workflow solutions together with Data subject matter experts

  • Leverage technical knowledge of Bloomberg's proprietary or open-source stack to implement high-standard and innovative solutions

  • Retain the workflow knowledge and IP while communicating the changes and progresses to partners around the globe

  • Govern the workflow by setting up appropriate monitoring systems and plans to ease incident management as well as ensure business continuity

You'll need to have:

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in the financial/fintech services industry, including exchanges, market data providers or financial technology institutions

  • Demonstrated experience working with Python in development or production environment

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience working in a data engineering role or related fields such data quality, data modeling, or data architecture

  • A bachelor’s degree or above in Statistics, Computer Science, Quantitative Finance, or other STEM related field or degree-equivalent qualifications

  • Experience implementing high volume, low-latency ETL pipelines and proven track record of managing data lifecycle

  • Familiarity with various databases, schemas, modeling, as well as structured and unstructured formats (PDF, HTML, XBRL, JSON, CSV etc.)

  • Strong project management skills and ability to prioritize and adapt to tasks accordingly with a customer focused mentality

  • Powerful collaboration skills to work across departments and regions, excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Demonstrated continuous career growth within an organization

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

We’d love to see:

  • Advanced degree in a relevant subject and/or Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP, or working towards it)

  • Experience in Bloomberg Company Financials products, Bloomberg Terminal fluency, and/or Bloomberg Data Workflows

  • Knowledge of advanced statistical methods and/or Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and Natural language Processing in business use-cases
