Summary

With supervision and technical guidance, the Maintenance Planner develops, maintains and completes Maintenance work packages, Design Change work packages, to comply with plant licensing documents, regulatory commitments, Technical Specifications, preventive maintenance and equipment qualification programs. Provides technical guidance and work process support to maintenance technicians. Interfaces and assists various departments with the development of permanent and temporary design changes, with the identification of material required for these changes, and assists in the resolution of technical discrepancies and work process implementation issues. Participates in plant system teams in developing plant modifications.

Minimum Requirements

High school diploma/GED plus completion of applicable apprenticeship program or five (5) years applicable trade experience; OR AAS degree in Engineering or related physical science plus three (3) years experience in maintenance, engineering or nuclear plant operations as a technician, engineer or operator; OR Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related physical science from an accredited college or university plus one (1) year experience in maintenance, engineering or nuclear plant operations. Must meet requirements to enter Security protected and vital areas of the Radiological Controlled Access (RCA) areas.

Nuclear requirement: Any PVNGS employee may be called upon to serve as a member of the Emergency Response Organization (ERO) and will be expected to fulfill their obligation as an ERO member. Any PVNGS employee may be called upon to support a refueling or short-notice outage. This includes line roles and responsibilities as necessary to execute outage activities. These are conditions of employment at PVNGS.

Major Accountabilities

1) Correctly translates engineering output documents into maintenance output documents while maintaining the design basis of the plant in accordance with the design configuration documents.

2) Develops maintenance output documents, specific work instructions and retest requirements to provide instructions to plant personnel to support troubleshooting activities, corrective maintenance and design change implementation per UFSAR, technical specifications, approved vendor recommendations, engineering output documents, and environmental compliance guidelines to ensure safe and efficient operation of Palo Verde.

3) Interfaces with Engineering, Operations, Radiation Protection, Maintenance and other groups as required to prepare maintenance instructions and resolve technical problems to support the 12-week schedule, emergent/urgent work, short notice (SNO) and refueling outages.

4) Participates on special projects, training programs, investigations, and corrective actions to expeditiously achieve the desired results when requested.

5) Conducts daily work activities in accordance with the Planner standards and expectations which include daily interface/communications with Planners and front line work groups.

6) Performs 10CFR50.59 applicability determinations to ensure maintenance output documents do not change design configuration.

7) Develops and maintains a high level of awareness concerning Licensing issues, Industry Events (OE), and Palo Verde Design Basis.

8) Attends training for technician level activities as appropriate to support the front line work groups in the field to obtain outage and non-outage scheduled goals.

9) Determines required material/vendor services and prepares applicable procurement and vendor contract requests to ensure cost efficiency in support of maintenance and design change packages for planned outages and online work activities.

10) Supplies procurement engineering technical field information to ensure that correct parts are procured.

11)Initiates new APN requests for new procurable and obsolete equipment/components.

12) Initiates Plant Change Packages (PCP) to ensure the Site Work Management System (SWMS) database reflects the as-built plant configuration.

Hybrid Role:

This position combines working in the office and at home, based on the needs of the business. The schedule will be determined with the hired employee and leadership, but the ultimate decision is the company's.

Any PVGS employees may be called upon for random Fitness for Duty (FFD) testing during scheduled working hours. Employees, if off-site, must report to FFD at Palo Verde as soon as reasonably practicable, but no more than 120 minutes after being notified. Employees who are onsite when notified will have no more than 60 minutes to report after being notified.
