Job Summary

The Tech Transfer Specialist is responsible for assuring availability and appropriate transfer of technology to Contract Manufacturers locations and select regional Hill’s plants in order to deliver business goals. Focus includes but is not limited to the following areas:

▪ Execute Hill’s Technology Transfer program.

▪ Communicate with Global Technology team.

▪ Ensure critical information about startup of new or changed products / processes are optimally transferred.

▪ Communicate with Product Development (PD), Implementation and Support, Regional / Global Quality, Regional Supply Chain Management, Network Operations, Regional Packaging, EOHS and procurement.

▪ Maintain and improve the relationship between Hill’s corporate teams, select regional Hill’s plant teams and Contract Manufacturing teams to strengthen the business network.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Follow closely the Technology Transfer SOP to ensure all steps are complete which includes Tech Readiness Reviews, scale up EMOs, Launch Readiness, updates to process/packaging/material changes, SOP´s & specifications and Post Launch reviews.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in regional facilities with a focus on process, finishing, and supplier capabilities.

  • Ensure process, equipment, and operational specifications are consistent with, and align with Quality and EOHS Standards & Global Regulatory requirements.

  • Ensure manufacturing processes and equipment support manufacturing of new product bundles to targeted cost and commercial expectations and works to identify ongoing margin improvement opportunities.

  • Ensure that product development addresses standardization and simplification for materials, formulas, manufacturing processes and packaging.

  • Provide performance / project updates to Tech Transfer Manager and Regional Quality Leader as part of business review.

  • Participate in Category Product Supply Chain meetings, Marketing meetings and grid reviews to address technical aspects and implications of new product launches and FTG projects.

Basic requirements include:

▪ BS degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, Engineering or other related field

▪ 4+ years manufacturing experience on a Food or drug / cGMP environment

▪ 1+ years proven project management experience

Preferred qualifications include:

▪ Masters of Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, Engineering or other related field

▪ 2+ years in Quality related field

▪ Prior supervisory experience

▪ 1+ years of experience in Network Operations / Commercialization role

Compensation and Benefits

Salary Range $101,500.00 - $112,000.00 USD

Pay is based on multiple non-discriminatory, individualized factors including but not limited to experience, job-related knowledge and education, skills and office/market location. In addition to base salary, salaried employees are eligible for annual discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing and, for Executive-level (salary grade 16 and above) roles only, long-term incentives in the form of Restricted Stock Units and/or Stock Options.

Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable benefits plans then in effect, all salaried employees are also eligible for a competitive benefits package which includes:

  • Retirement Plans: Employees are eligible to enroll in Colgate's 401(k) plan, which provides for company matching contributions subject to eligibility requirements

  • Vacation/PTO: Employees receive a minimum of 15 days of vacation/PTO leave annually

  • Paid Holidays: Employees receive a minimum of 13 paid/floating holidays annually

  • Paid Sick Leave: Based on location and consistent with applicable state and local law, employees receive a minimum of 40 hours of paid sick leave on January 1st of each year

  • Paid Parental Leave: Eligible employees may take up to eight weeks of paid parental leave and 12 weeks of unpaid leave (varies for employees with fewer than 12 months of service and is subject to hours worked requirements)
