Corporate Procurement & Sourcing Specialist

LOCATION:Toronto Head Office - 4950 Yonge St, Suite 2400, Toronto, ON M2N 6K1

STRUCTURE:Potential for hybrid work model (2 days remote work/week)

REPORTING TO:Corporate Director – Procurement & Supply Chain

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Corporate Procurement and Sourcing Specialist will work closely with the Corporate Procurement and Supply Chain Director and internal stakeholders and be responsible for managing and developing sourcing strategies for materials, assets, and services used in the construction industry. This position will develop, administer, and evaluate the Strategic Sourcing Process for assigned categories and will be responsible for developing critical internal and external relationships.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage and develop supplier performance, relationships, and agreements for assigned categories while collaborating with stakeholders to create a competitive advantage for Colas Canada.

• Manage cross-functional teams using an examination of historical spend data, market research and cost modeling to identify and leverage high-value opportunities that deliver innovative and sustainable value, operational efficiencies, and risk mitigation to the business.

• Interact and collaborate with internal business partners in procurement and proposal preparation activities.

• Develop procurement roadmaps that support subsidiaries' procurement and supply objectives.

• Develop negotiation strategies for large contracts, work with legal counsel to identify and incorporate appropriate levels of commercial protection and conduct negotiations to achieve the best possible outcome for Canada.

• Leverage national and global company spend to optimize financial outcomes for the organization.

• Provide market and opportunity reviews to stakeholders.

• Prepare and negotiate contract terms and conditions for agreements.

• Review contract documents to determine contractual obligations, preparing recommendations regarding acceptance or modifications.

• Identify, vet, and select new vendors and services.

• Establish and maintain professional relationships with suppliers based on the highest ethical business practices.

• Act as the primary liaison to suppliers within assigned categories and use market research and spend analysis tools to evaluate supplier performance.

• Identify and anticipate business needs; develop recommendations and solutions.

• Develop, manage, and influence policy implementation related to supplier commitments.

• Collect, evaluate, and develop a sourcing plan and conduct sourcing activities while ensuring delivery and quality requirements are satisfied.

• Collaborate with subsidiary and international Procurement Teams.

TRAVEL

• Occasional travel to subsidiaries and suppliers as required.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 5-7 years of strategic sourcing experience in a large construction or manufacturing environment and/or exposure to engineering, plant operations, and maintenance,

• Sourcing experience in indirect procurement, fleet, construction equipment, manufacturing equipment, or services is a plus,

• Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, finance, engineering, or related field (MBA or similar master's degree an asset),

• Bilingual skills (French/English) are an asset.
