TEKsystems Analyst - Asset Securitization Operations in Toronto, Ontario

Our client, a Big 5 bank, is currently hiring for an Analyst, Asset Securitization Operation to join their team in downtown Toronto.

*The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of experience within capital markets operations (Ideally from a fintech or a bank) (Exp: Trades, Settlements, Trade clearing, SWIFT payments (MT 202, 103))

This group manages structured products. Dealing with derivative products. If clients reached source of funding, so they fund the clients through origination of products. Lots of invoicing, collect money from the client, reconcile them. The deals are billion dollar deals. The attention to detail is important. The business sits on the securities side.

There is phone call component where you need to reach out to client for certain information /confirmation. You have a lot of interaction with internal stakeholder (front office/ back office).

Role Details:

In this role you will have an opportunity to understand the Asset Securitization business, while driving business results and providing legendary experiences for our clients and partners. As an analyst we will be looking for someone to take initiative and identify opportunities to work smarter and simpler. You are also expected to understand and manage market and operational risks inherent in the business.

Job Accountabilities:

• Ability to lead /collaborate and build and maintain strong relationships with key partners from across departments (Sales & Trading, Accounting, Technology, and other key groups).

• Perform regular / routine processing functions such as month end procedures, account reconciliations, projections, running queries and reports, variance analysis, suspense and error resolution and set-up/maintenance of transactions / entries where applicable.

• Update Funding and paydown request and process SWIFT payments – MT 202, 103

• Manual generation of monthly Invoices

• Conduct standard reporting and analysis as directed

• Provides specialized analysis / administration, processing and verification or reconciliation support as assigned

• Provide reporting to rating agencies like DBRS

• Forecast and raise daily funding requests

• Demonstrate an innovative and can-do approach while building and cultivating an environment of innovation and participating in department projects to stream line our processes.

• Oversees resolution of issues and risks effectively and understands when to inform sr. management.

• Deep understanding of operational risk management to effectively identify issues and dependencies and evaluate and enhance controls while keeping well informed of emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts.

Qualifications:

*The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of experience within capital markets operations (Ideally from a fintech or a bank) (Exp: Trades, Settlements, Trade clearing, SWIFT payments (MT 202, 103))

• Excel skills are vital (VBA being #1, VLOOK UP, Pivot tables, Macros)

• Working knowledge of the Asset Securitization business

• Basic knowledge of finance/accounting

• Ability to read and interpret credit agreements (CAIROs)

• A general understanding of the finance unit and operational functions for the Securitization business

• Python or other analytical program experience

Work Environment:

2-3 days in office. They do Wed/Thurs in office. 37.5 hour work week.

Duration: 6 month contract to hire
