Canadian Tire Associate Manager, Customer Promotional Strategy, Transformation and Integration in Toronto, Ontario

What you’ll do

Acting as a centralized hub for planning across CTC, the Promotional Strategy, Transformation & Integration team aims to develop collaboration and strategic leadership. The team is responsible for helping to drive sales growth for CTC by working collaboratively with a broad range of stakeholders (internal, external, cross-functional,) to build and execute promotional marketing strategies that address both business and customer needs.

As a member of this team, the Associate Manager, Customer Promotional Strategy, Transformation and Integration is responsible for consulting on the strategic development and operational execution of best-in-class promotional plans across CTC. This role works cross-functionally across marketing to develop annual roadmaps, lead in-season management and assessment of business and financial health and transform CTC customer promotional capabilities and processes.

  • Champion a customer-focused culture with business needs in mind

  • Lead the strategic development of annual customer promotional plans, ensuring operational integration, and conducting post-mortem evaluations

  • Project Manage the evolution of the customer promotions team (both Short term & Long term goals)

  • Design, develop, implement, and manage change deliverables that will enable impacted users to successfully transition from their current state to a future state

  • Investigate, discover, and partner with cross functional teams to educate the Customer Promotions team on new data/insights

  • Engineer new processes to deliver promotional omni-channel integration across CTC and business units

  • Help drive new capabilities and best-in-class promotional marketing activities

  • Facilitate constructive conversation for idea generation and collaborative brainstorming on innovative marketing concepts

  • Evaluate promotional program performance to mitigate risk, identify growth opportunities and shape future promotional plans

  • Build and socialize strategy documents and action plans with Senior Leadership team to gain alignment

  • Build presentation decks for various levels of the organization, ensuring the content tells a story

  • Act in a consulting capacity for other business units by recommending solutions to promotional opportunities

What you bring

  • 4+ years of experience with a focus on strategic planning, project management, process development, and consulting

  • University Degree – Bachelor of Commerce, Marketing, or equivalent

  • Strong problem-solving skills with ability to formulate option development and recommendations

  • Ability to work independently, being self sufficient to take the initiative on leading work

  • Strong communication skills and comfortable conversing with senior leadership

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work with other team members

  • Collaborative style with superior influencing skills

  • Excellent organizational abilities

  • Excellent presentation skills both in crafting decks and verbally presenting, emphasizing building the right narrative for the right audience

  • Comfortable leading meetings with 80+ participants

  • Effective time management skills, managing multiple projects with various deadlines efficiently

  • Proficient in building processes and roadmaps

  • Skillful at crafting stories that integrate corporate initiatives to gain buy-in

  • Sense of curiosity and outside of the box thinking to transform and optimize processes

  • Actively involved in integration efforts, possessing a keen sense of what is happening in other teams

  • Flexibility to come into the Toronto office multiple times a week
