IBM IBM Brand Technical Specialist - Power in Toronto, Ontario

As a BTS you understand the client's business requirements, technical requirements and/or competitive landscape. You apply your business insights, build and maintain client relationships, incorporate hardware, software and services into client-valued solutions and ensure client readiness for the implementation of technical solutions. Your Role and Responsibilities

Brand Technical Specialists are technical consultants to clients, IBM Sales teams and Business Partners. They understand the client's business and technical requirements, and competitive landscape. They provide technical sales support which may include: collaborate with IBM Sales teams to define, architect and design server solutions, and feasibility of proposed solutions: develop and deliver Proof of Concept, competitive insights; technical presentations and education; ensure the technical accuracy of the proposed solution; customization, installation, integration and/or implementation of solutions; plan and lead business development activities, qualify and progress opportunities; contribute to intellectual assets; maintain technical and professional skills; and act as a trusted advisor to clients during technical discussions. They establish relationships with the clients' key technical decision makers and influencers within an opportunity driven model. They understand the client's technical strategy, challenges and how IBM solutions can help them to be successful in their business. They are responsible for the client's satisfaction with the IBM offerings proposed and delivered.

Leadership

  • Lead in client engagements with key offerings and sales plays

  • Drive Business Development activities to identify new opportunities and expand business with existing clients

  • Establish differentiated point of view; develop technical agenda and strategy with client

  • Anticipate, assess and validate client requirements

  • Co-create solutions and develop business value

  • Build advocacy and credibility with client influencers and decision makers

Ecosystem skills & relationships

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Extensive technical experience in Technical Sales of Power Systems, AIX, IBM i and Linux in particular plus some depth in Hybrid Cloud and AI offerings

  • Storage and Networking knowledge and experience is an asset

  • English: Fluent

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • At least 5 years experience in IBM Power

  • Experience in technical sales and direct client engagements

  • Experience working in multiple industries
