The opportunity

The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of Warehouse/Distribution staff, promoting teamwork and process improvements ensuring internal and external customer orders are delivered per due dates. The Supervisor will manage department budget(s), ensure compliance with all GMPs, SOPs and EH&S requirements.

How you’ll spend your day

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Department support

  • Lead, support and promote continuous improvement, teamwork, idea generation, projects, performance management, capital equipment installations, system improvements, process changes, etc.

Daily Shift Coordination

  • Direct and monitor the daily shift execution of all warehouse and shipping personnel, in accordance with all related policies and procedures, systems, equipment and machinery

Customer requirements

  • Ensure internal and external customer requirements and due dates are met.

Capacity requirements

  • Plan the capacity requirements for labour and equipment in a multi-shift structure, including training schedules, maintenance and sanitation, while monitoring and adhering to budgets.

KPI’s

  • Create and report key statistics and performance measures, using the outputs to action accordingly

Hazard Recognition and Investigation Skills

  • Identify, prevent, and proactively correct workplace hazards and conditions. Perform incident/accident investigations, root cause analysis, and establish appropriate corrective actions.

Role Modeling

  • Role modelling of EHS practices to prevent the release of materials/energy, reduce EHS impacts, and ensure adherence to EHS regulatory requirements and procedures.

Other duties as assigned

Your experience and qualifications

Required: High School Completed; Preferred: College Diploma

5+ years’ experience in Distribution/Warehousing

Strong Supervisory skills

Strong Mathematical and Analytical skills

Negotiation, Planning, Decision Making, Problem Solving skills

Familiar with Licensed Operator requirements (Counter-Balance, Fork-Lift, Pallet Truck, Turret Truck)

Experience with all Shipping & Warehousing functions

Excellent communication, coaching, continuous improvement and problem solving skills
