What you'll be doing

The CIBC Square Conference Centre & Food Services portfolio spans over 170,000 square feet of conference & dining spaces and comprises the following programs:

  • Conference Centre operations and food services

  • L49 CIBC Dining by O&B

  • Employee retail food services

The Senior Director leads the CIBC Square Conference Centre & Food Services portfolio and is responsible for the strategy, operations, financial management, people leadership and stakeholder management for these programs and the supporting guest & event management services. The objective is to deliver best-in-class experiences with industry-leading economics at CIBC Square, our global headquarters.

How you'll succeed

  • Strategy Development and Delivery: This role will develop the strategy, KPIs and tactical plans for each of our hospitality and food services programs in line with our bank’s internal and external engagement priorities, to deliver a contemporary and comprehensive hospitality program. You will provide governance and oversight of CIBC Square third party vendor, adherence and quality control of premium service and product, delivery of WELL programming, strategic planning, organizational structure, safety, sanitation and overall food services & hospitality best practices. This role will also direct initiatives so that policy, program, or operations changes can be implemented in a timely, efficient and accurate manner.

  • Finance and Operations: The Senior Director will actively manage the financial performance of the venue through continuous monitoring and analysis of revenue, expenditures and variances and identify opportunities for efficiencies. You will drive the budget process, manage profit and loss statements, and control expenses and costs for all programs. This position will develop and implement process of communications, support and resource allocation to optimize utilization of space and to deploy staffing accordingly.

  • People Leadership and Stakeholder Management: The individual in this role will build talent for career progression and succession, and establish a culture of apprenticeship and constructive feedback. You will work with stakeholders, internal and external, to develop, review and implement programs focused on event delivery and client/employee experience. The Senior Director will develop and implement a structured “Voice of the Customer” program, gather feedback from employees and respond by progressively elevating services and practices.

Who you are

  • You have a degree/diploma in Hospitality. Certified Hospitality Professional designation preferred.

  • You can demonstrate 15 years’ experience in hospitality or progressive years of experience with increasing levels of responsibility within a corporate hospitality environment.

  • You understand that success is in the details. You notice things that others don't. Your critical thinking skills help to inform your decision making.

  • Proven experience in guest services to enhance client experience.

  • You are a bold and accountable leader. You're passionate about developing and coaching to bring out the best in people. You have led diverse, high performing teams.

  • You give meaning to data. You enjoy investigating complex problems, and making sense of information. You're confident in your ability to communicate detailed information in an impactful way.
