Overview

THE ROLE:

The Director of DevOps will a work hybrid schedule, and must be available to work onsite at our Torrance, CA facility at least 3 days per week and more if needed and will able to work some from home also. Will be responsible to lead, manage and set strategic direction for the Global DevOps Teams. Maintains and supports DevOps tooling and to build scalable (Public/Private Cloud) platforms, processes, and workflows.

The DevOps Team consists of:

  • DevOps Engineer

  • Value Stream Delivery CI/CD

  • Deployment

  • DevSecOps

  • Site Reliabilty Engineering and Observability

The Director will drive multi-cloud and hybrid-cloud enablement and adoption for the company’s global business application portfolio and IT Infrastructure platform requirements. Manage services from Public Cloud Hyperscalers like Microsoft Azure, Amazon AWS, Oracle OCI, Google GCP, and Alibaba Cloud on services like Cloud Compute, Storage Services, Data Services, DevOps, CI/CD, MicroServices, Service Mesh, Containerization, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning platforms and End-to-End Observability. Global function across GTS and for the management of cross-functional processes. This role will bring together the technology, people, and processes necessary to support the delivery of streamlined, technology enabled business services.

HOW YOU WOULD CONTRIBUTE:

• Ensures department alignment to the company and GTS priorities / strategy.

• Ensure solutions are aligned with modern industry trends and enterprise strategy.

• Partners with other leaders in GTS and business teams to understand process improvement needs and translate these into actions and/or projects.

• Identifies areas where department processes can be improved and influences business and GTS leadership by defining the benefits and handle the improvements.

• Works closely with other GTS functions to cohesive operations and reduces friction.

• Escalates and follows through on issues identified by teams.

• Creates an environment that enhances collaboration, ensuring positive and productive working relationships are developed and maintained across the service ecosystem.

• Participates in strategic planning. Establishes strong relationships with stakeholders and strives to deliver a positive user experience.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leads a geographically dispersed team of around 20 personnel.

Qualifications

SKILLS AND BACKGROUND REQUIRED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

• Excellent communication skills for both executive and technical audiences

• Demonstrable track record in managing Cloud, DevOps Engineering, Value Stream Delivery CI/CD, Observability and Virtualization operations in a complex, international organization of relevant scale and complexity.

• Strong technical understanding of public/private cloud platforms and services (Azure, GCP, AWS, Alibaba or Private Cloud Tech).

• Strong understanding and experience with CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts.

• Experience with Virtualization technologies, such as VMWare, Hyper-V, or Open Stack.

• Strong technical understanding of application, network, MicroServices, Containerization, DevSecOps and cloud security service.

• Strong understanding of Agile concepts and processes (SCRUM/Kanban/SAFe).

• Comfortable driving successful delivery through a large geographically disparate team comprised of internal employees and contractors.

• Develops a collaborative environment that champions knowledge sharing.

• Ability to interact effectively at all levels with sensitivity to cultural diversity

Experience:

• 12+ years of experience in IT, in DevOps roles.

• 5+ years leading large global teams, managing large environments that span multi geographical locations.

• Has a proven track record in performing risk mitigation.

• Strong knowledge of management of cost centers and tracking departmental spend.

• Working understanding of enforcement of compliancy requirements and being able to supply audit data.

Education:

• Bachelor's in Information Technology or equivalent experience.

Preferred:

• MBA or other advanced degree.

Certificates / Training Preferred:

• Cloud Management training/certification like AZ-30X (Microsoft Azure Architect).

• Designing and Implementing Microsoft DevOps Solutions training/certification like AZ-400.
