Overview

THE ROLE:

Herbalife is seeking a Director of ESG Strategy to join our Supply Chain and Worldwide Operations Team.

Reporting into the VP of Global Product Sourcing, this individual will be responsible for the overall governance of ESG at Herbalife and will work closely with the Board of Directors ESG Committee, Executive Leadership and cross-functional stakeholders. This person will be critical to enhancing awareness of Herbalife’s sustainability impacts, risks and opportunities across the globe, while also driving stronger coordination between global and regional teams. The Director of ESG Strategy will serve as Herbalife’s subject matter expert and provide recommendations on goals, data management, strategy, tactics, program plans and reporting. This role will be key to preparing for upcoming compliance requirements and should have a strong background leading similar sustainability efforts within a global manufacturing or consumer-product business.

HOW YOU WOULD CONTRIBUTE:

  • Compile regular strategy updates and continued education materials for Herbalife’s Board of Directors ESG Committee

  • Lead Herbalife’s Executive Sustainability Council to drive awareness, alignment and progress against the organization’s long-term ESG plans.

  • Keep a pulse on emerging regulations, market trends, best practices and stakeholder demands to inform and continuously adapt Herbalife’s ESG strategy.

  • Partner with Enterprise Risk Management, Regulatory /Government Affairs, Legal, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Human Resources and other key stakeholder groups to develop, implement & monitor Herbalife’s sustainability strategy.

  • Build a comprehensive ESG data, reporting and communications strategy to help Herbalife share its sustainability journey and successes with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Oversee teams responsible for preparing regulatory disclosures, ESG rater submissions, sustainability reports and other ESG-related communications.

  • Provide strategic guidance on ESG priorities, goals, metrics, technology solutions, data architecture, documentation needs and internal reporting controls.

  • Direct Herbalife’s annual stakeholder engagement activities, materiality assessments and risk management planning.

  • Prepare and manage budgets, project teams, consultants and annual workplans.

  • Support key ESG workstreams as needed, including climate, nature/deforestation, packaging, sourcing, DE&I, human rights, etc.

This position will be part of a fast-paced and dynamic team responsible for the growth and strategic direction of Herbalife Nutrition’s Global Responsibility and ESG programs, policies goals and successes. Qualifications

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Director of ESG Strategy will oversee 3-5 people who are responsible for Herbalife’s ESG data management, regulatory reporting strategy and long-term management plans tied to our material ESG impacts, risks and opportunities.

SKILLS AND BACKGROUND REQUIRED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • 10+ years of related work experience with demonstrated success leading sustainability/ESG across a global, publicly traded company.

  • Prior success engaging Boards of Directors, influencing executive leadership, managing cross-functional committees and stewarding diverse project teams.

  • Comprehensive background in ESG strategy, goal setting, data management and/or reporting.

  • Subject matter expertise across risk management and a myriad of ESG topics, including but not limited to climate, deforestation, human rights, ethical sourcing, product innovation & packaging.

  • Strong command of global ESG compliance requirements (SEC, CA, CSRD), mandatory and voluntary reportingstandards,(IFRS/ISSB/EFRAG, GRI, SASB), ESG frameworks (COSO, CDP/TCFD) andthird-partyratings(ISS, S&P, Sustainalytics, MSCI, Bloomberg).

  • Demonstrated success with cohesive analysis and assessment of impact using both key quantitative and qualitative data points

  • Experience and ability for complex problem solving and develop new ideas that will enhance partnership results, is future-oriented and assesses what will help/hinder achieving goals

  • Sound financial acumen, program management and communication skills.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, sustainability, environmental studies or related field

  • Advanced degree preferred
