Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Labor Foreman 2 - Torrance State Hospital in Torrance, Pennsylvania

THE POSITION

The Department of Human Services, Torrance State Hospital, is seeking a qualified person to fill a vacancy for a full-time Labor Foreman 2. This position provides support to the maintenance and operation of the Maintenance Department by overseeing and supervising the grounds and labor crews. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a member of the maintenance crew, the Labor Foreman 2 works with a crew of labor personnel in all aspects of grounds and facility repair. In this position, you will also perform supervisory duties such as interviewing and evaluating perspective employees, completing accident and injury reports, and completing necessary employee evaluations, work orders, and requisitions. Safety is a high priority for our patients as well as for the employees of Torrance, and your part to ensure the safety of our patients, staff, and visitors is to strive to keep the hospital facilities throughout the complex in attractive and good working order.

*Work Schedule and Additional Information:*

  • Full-time employment, 37.5-hour work week. 
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS *Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:*

  • Four years of experience in performing manual labor, semi-skilled labor or maintenance work, including two years of experience as a lead worker; *or*
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

*Legal Requirements: *

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
