B/S/S/T Area Agency on Aging, Inc., a 501 c3 non-profit organization, has a vacancy for a Fiscal Officer 1 working out of the Towanda, PA office.  This is a full time position (40 hrs. a week; Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm) with benefits including health, dental and vision insurance, paid time off (vacation, sick, holiday, personal) and 401(k).

Primary responsibility of the Fiscal Officer 1 is to assist with the fiscal management of B/S/S/T Area Agency on Aging consistent with the regulations and standards established by the PA Department of Aging. 

The Fiscal Officer is responsible for preparation of all payroll and bookkeeping duties in recording, reviewing and processing financial transactions.  Fiscal Officer also assists with the development of the Agency's annual budget including amendments and revisions.  The Fiscal officer exercises considerable independent judgment in completion of tasks with oversight from the CFO.

Candidate must be proficient in computer usage and electronic accounting systems. 

Must have a reliable vehicle for work related travel (when an agency vehicle is not available), up-to-date vehicle insurance, up-to-date vehicle registration and possess a valid driver's license.

Selected applicant must pass a state police criminal clearance, child abuse clearance and if necessary a FBI clearance. These clearances will be obtained with assistance from the Area Agency on Aging, and free of charge to the selected individual.

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two (2) years as a Fiscal Technician and six (6) college credits in accounting or;
  • One (1) year of accounting and/or budgetary experience and a business related Bachelor's degree that includes six (6) college credits in accounting or;

``` - Three (3) years of accounting and/or budgetary experience and a business related Associates Degree that includes six (6) college credits in accounting or; - Five (5) years of bookkeeping experience and six (6) college credits in accounting or: - An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes or is supplemented by six (6) college credits in accounting.
