Lockheed Martin Aircraft Technician Experienced- 2nd shift in Troy, Alabama

Description: Work independently, or as part of a team, according to specifications and other written or oral instructions.

Insure the airworthiness of multi-engine and advanced types of aircraft by planning, directing and carrying out there servicing, evaluating overhaul and repair.

Assemble, disassemble, clean and tag and store aircraft, parts and components, interior and exterior.

Service aircraft, i.e. refuel, defuel, lubricate, grease etc.

Evaluate/troubleshoot and test aircraft and components to determine condition and serviceability.

Repair/modify/restore assemble/install aircraft components, assemblies subassemblies and associated other parts and equipment.

Make necessary entries to aircraft forms and records.

Recognize safety and inspection requirements and ensure compliance with existing policies and procedures and recommend improvements.

Select and operate aircraft support equipment, tools and hardware necessary to properly perform maintenance of aircraft and components.

Determine alternate means of performing assigned work when traditional methods or equipment are not available, obtain necessary approvals and implement alternative methods.

Assist/instruct fellow employees in proper job knowledge and techniques.

Recommend corrective actions and/or improved processes.

Plan and/or direct the work of an individual assigned to a specific task and assist in solving a particular process problem.

Ensure that aircraft is returned to serviceable condition, providing specialized solutions and/or resources are required.

Service aircraft away from plant.

Perform related tasks to complete the function, i.e., ground support, hazardous material handling, operate ground support equipment, general housekeeping and safety and other continuous improvement activities.

Perform daily checks of all components; tie-down, general maintenance of pre-flight and pilot reported discrepancies and other ground tests, while helicopter is in flight status.

Follow all rules and regulations pertaining to environmental health and safety.

As required, segregate waste material and follow good housekeeping practices.

Basic Qualifications:

Broad knowledge of mechanical and airframe structures and operating procedures with specialized training and ability in one or more of the disciplines.

Equivalent to 2 years high school plus 2 to 3 years trades training.

US Citizenship required.

Desired Skills:

Airframe (A) or Powerplant (P) or combination of both (A&P) highly preferred.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: Standard Monday to Friday 40 hour work week
