Job Title: Technical ManagerJob Description

The Technical Group Manager role is a pivotal position that entails managing both People and Projects within their domain, while also aiding in Business Development operations in an Engineering Services Organization. The scope of people management includes hiring, providing career guidance, and offering technical leadership to individuals primarily comprising engineers and software developers, as well as occasional STEM-oriented personnel. Project management involves liaising with clients to comprehend their business requirements, formulating requirements, deliverables, and other details in Statements Of Work, supporting the overall efforts to secure new projects, recruiting and retaining individuals, collaborating with Project Managers for project initiation, providing ongoing technical guidance during project execution, maintaining general governance and oversight, ensuring client satisfaction, adherence to policies during project execution, and proper project closure. The Technical Group Manager collaborates internally with various teams and externally with client organizations.

Work Site

This is a hybrid position requiring some days on-site in Troy, Michigan and some days remote.

Work Environment

The position is a Management role with multiple career growth paths leading to higher level positions. The role involves leading and managing teams dedicated to engineering projects related to full stack development, cloud engineering, and Cybersecurity. The role requires learning new technologies and promoting the adoption of new frameworks to gain a competitive edge in delivering value to customers. The Technical Manager is expected to work directly with business partners to understand their requirements, innovate, and advocate for best practices within the team. The role also involves designing complex solutions and leading them from inception to production within the Agile team. The role requires providing technical guidance and mentorship to software development teams and ensuring all projects and releases are appropriately tested and risks are mitigated.
