About the Role
This position will be responsible for building and maintaining our technical infrastructure, developing APIs for seamless data transmission between system components, managing software versions, supporting DevOps activities, and conducting field test. The main responsibilities of the position will include, but not limited to,
Infrastructure Development:
Design and implement robust infrastructure solutions to make data logging environment, wireless communication infrastructures, and cloud-based development environment
API Development for Data Transmission:
Develop and maintain APIs for efficient data exchange between different system components.
Ensure data integrity and security in transmission process
Software Management:
Manage software versioning, including updates and patches.
Ensure that software changes are documented and comply with quality standards.
DevOps Support:
Collaborate with the DevOps team to optimize deployment processes and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
Support in troubleshooting and resolving infrastructure-related issues
Conducting Field Experiments:
Plan and execute field experiments to test system functionality in real-world scenarios.
Analyze experiment data to improve system performance and reliability.
The Research Engineer will plan execute and coordinate New Mobility programs for/with internal and external departments, (supplier) companies, institutions and academia.
Your Responsibilities
Evaluation of technologies and product designs with compliance to scientific principles, engineering principles, company standards, customer requirements and related specifications
Support the development of innovative components and modules from the initial concept phase through the complete development process including design engineering, validation, prototyping, testing, and evaluation of the proposed production capable process and business case
Design and conduct research programs; applying theory and principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, electronics, heat transfer and materials
Contribute to team effort by providing innovative ideas for products and processes and by sharing new information with other team members
Support the ideation process while identifying gaps in the current product or manufacturing technology to guide and provide future R&D efforts
Analyze engineering results and propose product changes to determine feasibility, improvement of components and systems and functional/performance specifications
Correlate experimental data to simulation data
Maintain innovation project schedule by monitoring project progress, co-coordinate activities, calculating time requirements, sequencing project elements and resolving problems
Specify requests and coordinate all sub-contracted work (i.e. S/W development, prototyping, validation, testing) and assures timely completion
Confer with other project engineers to clarify or resolve problems and develop designs
Maintain proper filing systems to ensure all information, (electronic or hard copy), are stored according to departments requirements
Provide engineering support to other departments within the company as directed by the department leader
Who we are looking for
Knowledge of various hardware and software environments and how to integrate them effectively
In-depth understanding of system architecture, including the ability to design and implement complex systems.
Advanced skills in API development, with a focus on RESTful (Representational State Transfer) services and real-time data exchange.
Experience in API security, authentication, and optimization for high performance
Strong programming skills in languages such as Java, Python, C++, or similar
Ability to write and maintain scripts for automation, monitoring, and deployment
Profound knowledge of version control systems like Git with an emphasis on code versioning best practices and branching strategies
In-depth experience with AWS or Nexus Repository Manager, demonstrating the ability to deploy, manage, and optimize applications for integration
Proficiency with DevOps tools (e.g., Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes) and understanding of CI/CD methodologies.
Experience in automating deployment processes and integrating various development tools for efficient operations
Competence in data analysis for system performance evaluation and identification of improvement areas.
Experience in planning and conducting field tests to validate system functionality and performance
Ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams and with diverse technical stakeholders
PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Normal amount of sitting or standing, average mobility to move around an office environment, able to conduct normal amount of work at a computer. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus
Ability to travel domestic and international
Your preferred qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
Proven experience in system integration and infrastructure development.
Strong knowledge of API development and data transmission protocols.
Experience in software version control and documentation.
Familiarity with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines.
Ability to conduct and analyze field experiments.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
Minimum of two years of professional experience in system integration, infrastructure development, DevOps, or a related field
