We have an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Program Quality Engineer at our Tucson, AZ location. This is an onsite position.

What You Will Do

  • Serve as a member of the Tube-launched, Optically tracked, Wire-guided TOW Program Teams, ensuring successful program performance, deliver conforming products/services through effective collaboration and compliance to processes and procedures.

  • Lead integration and implementation of cross-functional teams to ensure alignment to quality and customer requirements per the program quality plan.

  • Serve as a program quality liaison across customer organizations (Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) and United States Government (USG), as well as relevant factories and engineering labs as first responder for quality issues and concerns related to development and production products.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and partner with program leadership team to define and implement quality improvement strategies.

  • Support supplier quality and supplier engineering efforts to help ensure compliance to the supplier program quality plan.

  • Review and approve changes to the technical data package, assign actions when necessary and complete actions in a timely manner when assigned. This includes but is not limited to: Peer reviews, Engineering Review/Change Control Board (ERB/CCB) and/or Design reviews.

  • Ensure all development hardware (Engineering, Proof of Design and Proof of Manufacturing) are appropriately documented in the quality history records and align to quality and customer requirements per the program quality plan.

    Qualification You Must Have

  • Typically requires bachelor’s degree in science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and five (5) years of relevant experience.

  • Working experience with Quality Management Systems, to include ISO 9001, AS9100 and/or AS9102.

  • Working experience leading teams in failure analysis, root cause analysis, corrective and preventative actions.

  • Working experience interpreting technical drawings.

  • Working experience with technical data package review (TDP) and document repository.

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

    Qualifications We Prefer

  • American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certification and/or Program Management Certification.

  • Experience with Customer Oriented Results and Excellence (CORE) or another Continuous Improvement Program.

  • Working experience using resources such as 5S, Root Cause Analysis, Process Mapping/Analysis, Lean Six Sigma (6Sigma).

  • Experience with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)/AS9145 and utilizing resources such as Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Key Characteristics, Design Failure Modes, and Effects Analysis (DFMEA), Production Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and/or Control Plans.

  • Knowledge of First Article Inspections per AS9102.

  • Experience with Configuration Control System such as Common Product Data Management (cPDM) and/or Common As-Built System (CABS).

  • Experience Reviewing Statement of Work (SOW), Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR), Knowledge of Purchase Order Quality Requirements (Q-Notes, STAMP).

  • Experience presenting, reviewing and/or approving changes through a formal Change Control Board (CCB).

  • Ability to comprehend and translate system requirements as well as contractual requirements to ensure full compliance is flowed down through product, assembly, and test documentation.

  • Ability to work as an individual contributor and in a dynamic team environment.

  • Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work well with customers, suppliers, and in a team environment.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
