This Position is for an Electronic Assembly Specialist, with a work location in Tupelo, MS.

Candidates for the position of Assembly Specialist shall participate in the team-oriented design, development, and testing of a wide range of electrical and electronics equipment and integrated systems for both industrial and military application.

Essential job duties: Duties may include machine operation, general assembly and disassembly duties as well as hand and power tool usage in a Manufacturing Environment. May also use measuring tools and equipment, blueprints, hammers, screwdrivers and air/battery powered hand tools. Must be able to lift up to 40-50 lbs and stand for up to 12 hours. Assisting in unloading trucks, freight, making pre-packs packing. Field service, system installation, and logistics support may be possible. Interaction and taking instruction from engineers. Work on multiple projects simultaneously (at various stages of development) is commonly required. Act as part of a team executing assembly of prototype and low rate initial production systems and subassemblies. Follow continuous improvement processes to ensure efficient assembly and enhancement of work instructions. Contribute to status updates and support constructive communication within the team. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Required Skills: Excellent problem-solving ability. Strong interpersonal and communication skillsPossible Travel 10%.

Qualifications include: Required Experience: High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Broad understanding of use of hand tools, measurement devices, and personal protective equipment. Demonstrated experience and proficiency with hands-on electrical and mechanical assembly. Demonstrate dexterity to perform small delicate component assembly and integration. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures with assembling electro/mechanical equipment.

Reports To: Machine Shop Manager

This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance.  Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance.  The Vetting Risk Operations Center (VROC), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process.  Security clearance factors include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the US, foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and drug involvement.  Employment is contingent on other factors, including, but not limited to, background checks and drug screens.
