TURNERS FALLS Wheel Hand Operator Deerfield Packaging is looking to employ self-motivated, hardworking individuals to work on grind wheels shaping and filing tools. Job Characteristics Set up and operate grinding and polishing equipment: Ensure all safety devices and guards are in place before operation Operate open wheels to bevel chisels, polish round work, etc. Change belts/wheels as necessary Clean and maintain machines regularly Inspect dimensions of all tools - must be able to match to print and specs provided on shop packs Inspect quality of all tools - must be able to inspect for dimensional tolerance and aesthetic tolerance Able to use electric/manual lifts and pallet jacks to transport raw and finished materials Read and interpret shop prints Operate ShopVue computer to handle inventory Notify supervisor and/or maintenance of issues beyond personal control Required Skills Excellent eye-hand coordination Maintain alertness and focus for long periods of time Often requires memorization of parts and prints Close attention to detail in a fast-paced environment Written and verbal English communication skills Able to work with a team to accomplish company goals Strict attention and adherence to safety guidelines including wearing all personal protective equipment (PPE) Willingness to keep and maintain a clean and safe work environment Adherence to attendance policy Participate in training new employees when needed Required Education/Experience High school diploma or equivalent Preferred Education/Experience 1+ years\' experience working in a manufacturing/industrial facility Physical Requirements The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
