CITY OF UNION Water Treatment Operator in UNION, South Carolina
[The City of Union is currently seeking a Water Treatment Plant Operator. Under general supervision, operates the water treatment plant, monitoring water daily in order to ensure safe, clean water for public use. Operates electrical and mechanical process equipment; performs electrical and mechanical repair and maintenance duties. Also performs general plant cleaning, painting, ground maintenance, and other related duties as required.
[Position requires a high school diploma, a valid minimum D SC Water Treatment Certification, and two years' experience in operating a water filtration plant; or any equivalent combination of training and experience. Must obtain a C SC Water Treatment Certification within one (1) year of employment. A SC Water Treatment C or greater certification is preferred. Must possess and maintain a valid South Carolina driver's license. Subject to pre-employment physical, DOT drug screens and all other applicable background checks.
[The City of Union Water Treatment Plant operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The operator position works an eight-hour day, forty-hour work week.
