Job Summary
Perform Bench Top Research in the Microbiology Laboratory for Dr. Hung within the Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory in the Collee of Veterinary Medicine
Duties & Responsibilities
- Evaluate aerobic culture plates: bacterial identification, perform Minimal Inhibitory Concentration and Kirby-Bauer susceptibility panels, and reporting. Assistant setup bench when needed.
- Evaluate Anaerobe culture plates: bacterial identification, perform Minimal Inhibitory Concentration and Kirby-Bauer susceptibility panels.
- Perform Leptospirosis Micro-Agglutination Testing and maintain reference stock cultures and sera.
- Participate in Quality Control and Quality Assurance Procedures. Follow and update SOPs, validation statements and forms.
- Interact with veterinary and graduate students through diagnostic and clinical blocks, provide support for classes, laboratories, and other responsibilities for the head of the Microbiology section as requested.
- Other duties as assigned

Allergies to hay, straw or animal dander may cause discomfort based on the location within the College of Veterinary Medicine.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor\'s degree in a science field
Appointment Information
This is a 100% full-time Academic Hourly position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after 6/28/2024. The hourly rate is \$28.85. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, while also considering internal equity.
