Share This Job Job Description Come join our team of library consultants at SirsiDynix! We're pioneering a groundbreaking service, a first in the library vendor industry. Our Consulting Department is revolutionizing the way libraries operate by creating innovative services and custom solutions, empowering libraries to concentrate on what truly matters: their communities. Join us in shaping the future of library services! In the Consultant role, you will be responsible for communicating the key features and benefits of SirsiDynix’s suite of technology products to customers. You will also participate in delivery of consultation through in-person sessions, web-based distance learning, and conference calls. Additionally, you will be responsible for disseminating software expertise on features and setup to meet customer needs, as well as providing consultation on the migration process, workflows, and utilization of ILS technology to customers both in-person and remotely. Essential Functions:

  • Provide consultation on all assigned software modules. Consulting will be delivered to customers on site and in-house and distance (telephone/web-based training)

  • Provide consultation on migration process, workflows, and utilization of ILS technology to customers on site and in-house and distance (telephone/web-based consulting)

  • Facilitate communication between SirsiDynix implementation teams (i.e. Consulting, Data Services, Product Delivery, Training, and Project Management) and SirsiDynix customers including interpretation and/or translation of verbal and written communications.

  • Develop custom solutions requested by customers.

  • Travel as needed to conduct training and/or to provide consultation at customer sites.

  • Contact the customer well in advance of a scheduled training session to confirm dates, times, location, travel information; and to assess/address specific needs of the customer.

  • Respond in a timely manner on any follow-up issues after a consultation or training session.

  • Participate in regular in-service sessions.

  • Participate in training for and review of software and documentation for new products and release updates.

  • Present a positive view of the company to customers.

  • Interact with other groups internally to ensure the customer has a positive experience.

    Knowledge and Skills:

  • In depth knowledge of SirsiDynix Library Software

  • Experience working with SirsiDynix API tools including Web Services

  • Ability to instruct large groups using Web-based meeting software (i.e., Zoom)

  • Excellent writing, editing, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills

  • Must be flexible, organized, detail-oriented, and a self-starter

  • Must be willing to travel a minimum of 25% of workdays

  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills

  • Ability to work well with clients and team members

  • Able to multi-task and balance tight deadlines

  • Mentor and train fellow employees as needed

  • Strong classroom training and presentation skills

  • Professional appearance and presentation required

  • Knowledge of basic library processes

    Education (minimum requirements/equivalent):

  • Bachelors Degree in a related field of study or equivalent work experience is required

  • MLIS preferred

    Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year experience in training or teaching preferred

  • Library automation or related computer experience required

  • 6-24 months of experience working with SirsiDynix products

    Additional Qualifications

  • Qualified candidates must be able to pass background check and drug test (including marijuana)

    Hiring Salary Range

  • $66,000 to $76,000 USD pay range depending on qualifications
