CONMED Corporation Material Handler in Utica, New York
The role of the Material Handler is to transport materials to and from Production areas while logging transactions using FIFO in a timely fashion. Key duties include handling the organization and rotation of stock in warehouses according to applicable procedures, assisting in cycle counts and stock audits, assuring all materials are properly identified and enclosed in appropriate containers, and maintenance of stock area using 5S lean principles. This is a 1st shift role with the hours of 6:55 am - 3:55 pm Monday - Friday.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Collect and deliver all assigned component materials to the manufacturing floors and Supermarkets to their respective areas following company policies and procedures and record on applicable documents.
- Identify any potential shortages and inform production planners.
- Key enter Material Movement Transactions (MMT's) upon completion of activity in ManMan.
- Deliver KanBan cards to rightful owner promptly.
- Ensure that all warehouse areas are organized, and the stock rotated.
- Assist in daily cycle counts according to company policies and procedures
- Confirm labeling and condition of container prior to signing for stock received.
- Condense, organize, and clean stores areas according to company policy, staying true to 5S Lean Principles for continuous improvements.
- Perform other related duties as required by management.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalency
Job Requirements
- Ability to read, understand and carry out written manufacturing processes and standard work instructions
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted
- Must be able to stand/walk around throughout the entire shift
- Ability to operate Walk Behind Lift
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment
- Relevant vocational training
- Forklift Experience
