Onboarding and Retention Coordinator - Full Time - Days

Job Summary

The Onboarding and Retention Coordinator assists in the end-to-end onboarding and retention for specified physician and advanced practitioner positions. Manages the position approval and requisition process for new positions and coordinates all aspects of provider onboarding and offboarding to support a seamless employment experience. Supports providers throughout orientation and their first year with MVHS to promote a positive employee experience.

Core Job Responsibilities

  • Manages the requisition process and applicant tracking system for new and replacement provider positions.

  • Directs, organizes and coordinates all aspects of candidate onboarding to include but not limited to payor credentialing, medical staff credentialing, human resources paperwork, orientation, employee health appointments and first day orientation.

  • Works with the MVHS MSO to coordinate credentialing contacts to build the new physician credentialing file for Board approval.

  • Manages onboarding/offboarding files and presents to the organization on a bi-weekly schedule as well as sending follow-up emails to providers regarding outstanding items.

  • Works with practice managers and onboarding teams to ensure all parties are prepared for the provider’s arrival

  • Provides continued assistance to new hire physicians and advanced practitioners in becoming acclimated to MVHS, the medical community and the Utica environment during their transition/relocation.

  • Provides continues retention/support efforts to new providers by scheduling periodic check in meetings and following up with leadership to resolve issues

  • Works with HR/MSO in scheduling new physician orientation, providing elements of orientation as indicated.

  • Follows up with new hires after employment has begun to determine satisfaction with the process and assess opportunities for improvement.

  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Education/Experience Requirements

REQUIRED:

  • High school diploma required.

  • Five years of related experience, to include one year of healthcare experience.

  • Excellent project management, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • Demonstrates initiative, ability to organize, prioritize, meet deadlines and follow through.

  • Excellent communication skills including marketing, persuasion and negotiation.

  • Ability to establish rapport with physicians and build effective ongoing relationships with practicing physicians and administrators.

  • Ability to prepare clear, concise, thorough, meaningful, and grammatically correct written communications and documents.

  • Very strong customer service orientation, positive attitude, highly self-motivated, directed and change oriented.

  • Advanced proficiency in various computer applications, e.g. word processing, excel spreadsheet, e-mail, database management and presentation software.
