Lighting Projects Senior (Level 3) - Encore - London / Uxbridge

Scope of the role

Working within the company you will be trusted in taking either an overseeing role or delivery of numerous different types of events to deliver install and control a lighting system on time and within budget.

Alongside an expanding team you will be tasked with planning, preparation and execution of events ensuring that they are staffed correctly to ensure delivery. With a vast array of equipment at your disposal and keeping an eye on budget you will be working directly with supervisors and project managers to ensure our clients get the best.

  • Experience or passion working with lighting equipment and technology

  • Problem solving skills in a pressured environment

  • Skilled in maths to A level standard

  • Ability to read and understand plans and work to them.

  • Ability to explain thoughts and ideas in an efficient way

  • Time management skills

  • Adaptability

Desirable knowledge

  • Knowledge of temporary power systems

  • Uses of capture and/or autocad software

  • Working with project management and working with designers.

  • Safe working at height (training will also be provided)

Main Responsibilities

  • To be able to understand and interpret technical plans and draw them where necessary so that others can understand them well

  • To rig, set up, focus and de-rig lighting and related equipment

  • To be able to work under pressure to a given timeline/build schedule

  • To program/operate lighting consoles to a reasonable standard including Avolites Titan console.

  • To act as a "responsible person" on behalf of the Lighting department on site when required

  • To supervise other technicians, freelancers and local crew on site

  • Advise production and venue staff on the best system to deliver the event

  • To specify pre-event prep work and assist where necessary to ensure completion of a job

  • To learn and harness information from your peers and colleagues to improve your techniques, skills, and development

  • To work in compliance with Health and safety policy and all company procedures at all times

  • To always represent the company in a positive manner

  • To fulfill other reasonable duties as required by line manager or as requested by a senior person when on site

Working environment

We consistently look at advancing any of our staff. Training and 1 to 1 sessions will ensure you can push your career and skillset further from specialist video work to rigging safety and design.

  • Non standard working ours: This may include working evenings, weekends or overnight shifts. Time in lieu policy applys

  • Working away from home: We work on events all over the UK and Europe so travel and hotel stays may be requested subject to the jobs needs

  • Working at height: Training can be given as necessary
