Lentech, Inc Director of Finance and Contracts in ., Virginia

Lentech, is seeking a talented financial director to oversee the company’s financial and contractual operations. Extensive knowledge of federal government contracts is required. ​​​​ Under limited supervision of the Chief Financial Officer, the Director of Finance and Contracts is responsible for managing the operations of the Finance, Accounting, Contracts and Compliance functions, including but not limited to, the following: Work Location: (Remote) Job Functions and Responsibilities: Finance Direct the preparation and ensures the accuracy of all financial reports; including income statements, balance sheets, statement of cash flows, tax returns, financial ratios analysis and reports for government regulatory agencies Participates in strategic planning and forecasting as well as completion of corporate and program reports and budgets. Responsible for the integrity of all financial information and reports Reviews reports to analyze projections of revenue and profit against actual performance, budgeted expenses against final totals, and suggests methods of improving the strategic planning process as appropriate Responsible for identifying problems, including budget overruns for both the company and programs and recommends corrective actions Performs program and indirect cost reviews, rate validations, forecasting of labor and overhead rates Prepares monthly and quarterly reports for executives showing spending vs. budget and identifying any problems that need to be addressed Provides technical financial advice and knowledge to others within the financial discipline Ensures that sufficient funds are available to meet ongoing operational and capital investment requirements Maintains a system of policies and procedures that impose an adequate level of control over treasury activities Accounting Manages and supports the accounting function in providing and directing procedures and systems necessary to maintain proper records and adequate accounting controls in compliance with US GAAP and the company’s Corporate Accounting Policies Ensures the Accounts Payable function is performing effectively; all expense reports, vendor payments and other items are booked correctly Oversees Accounts Receivable, ensuring invoices are accurate and delivered timely to clients Contracts and Compliance Ensures compliance with applicable Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) Oversees the contracts function in providing and directing procedures and systems necessary to maintain compliance, develops and negotiates contract terms and conditions, and pricing strategies for bids and proposal Handles compliance investigations and reporting on fraud, waste or abuse Requirements: At least 15 years of accounting experience for a government contracting company. At least 10 years of experience in government contracts and compliance Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting desired Thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, governmental accounting standards and industry best practices. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, independently monitor and prioritize workload and meet work objectives. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to maintain the highest of ethical standards, maintain strict confidentiality and exercise tact and discretion. About Lentech, Inc.
