Job Description

40 hours/week, M-S with rotating Saturday

  • Leads and directs collection staff in order to achieve delinquency goals. Organizes, reviews and monitors collector assignments. Monitors performance and ensures appropriate staffing levels.

  • Reviews and uses independent discretion, within granted authority, to approve repossession requests, and field visit requests.

  • Researches and responds to member issues, complaints and escalated calls.

  • Trains and supervises assigned staff to meet delinquency goals and ensure policies and procedures are being followed.

Required Skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to professionally interact with all levels of staff, vendors and members.

  • Thorough knowledge of collections and the products and services supported by the area.

  • Ability to provide leadership, support, motivation and professional development to the staff.

  • Ability to work independently and motivate staff to achieve goals.

  • Ability to review and analyze reports and make appropriate recommendations.

  • PC skills to include word-processing, Excel and Outlook.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Fair Debt Collections Practices Act and advanced collection techniques for all types of loans, including but not limited to initiation of small claims/legal action.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects and deadlines simultaneously

  • Ability to identify and resolve/escalate complex problems, while meeting or exceeding department member service levels.

Required Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.

  • Minimum 3 years experience in all phases of collection activity.

  • Minimum 2 years supervisory experience.
