Salary range ($23-$24.50 per hour).Multiple factors, including Individual experience, skills, and abilities will determine where an employee is ultimately placed in the pay range. Variable pay may provide additional opportunities for financial awards. This job is eligible to participate in IP’s short–term incentive plan.

The Job You Will Perform:

Background:

Valliant is a 5000+ ton/day containerboard mill with three (3) paper machines, three (3) continuous digesters, three (3) secondary fiber plants and a utilities/chemical recovery complex. It currently operates with 350+ mill employees and 150+ contract maintenance employees. The mill operates 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

Key Functions (include but not limited to):

  • Receives wood fiber into the mill.

  • Responsible for accurately and timely weighing and entering pertinent supplier information for log, chip and fiber fuel trucks.

  • Ensure drivers are aware of mill safety policies and have required personal protective safety equipment to enter the mill.

  • Work with Fiber Procurement Team, Woodyard and Price Chipping

  • Verify and record quality/condition of received wood.

  • As needed, instruct drivers where to unload wood.

  • Weigh in and out other materials such as paper chemicals and scrap material, as needed.

  • Excellent skills in written and oral communication, problem-solving, time management and conflict resolution.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop cooperative working relationships between other team members and teams.

  • Strong computer knowledge and skills that include experience with spreadsheets, word processing, and electronic mail.

  • Flexible to meet changing business and team needs.

  • Ability to excel with minimal supervision in a team environment.

  • Willing to work rotating 12-hour shift and overtime to cover vacancies.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required

  • Ability to work under minimal supervision.

  • Must be able to multitask.
