PeaceHealth is seeking a Buyer for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Day position. The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $22.70 – $34.04. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.

This hybrid role required the incumbent be onsite 2 or less days per week.

Job Summary

Responsible for purchasing all supplies for assigned areas within established authorization parameters, may include capital and general purchase orders. Generates and confirms purchase orders, monitors contract pricing for each order and coordinates to assure timely invoice resolution.

Essential Functions

  • Orders and expedites orders for supplies, equipment and services.

  • Assists departments through purchasing processes.

  • Monitors PeaceHealth contracts, selects preferred vendors and coordinates paperwork to assure timely payment of invoices. Resolves pricing discreptencies as they arise.

  • Coordinates and expedites product returns, completes appropriate paperwork for tracking of issue.

  • Coordinates product recalls, addresses product safety concerns and maintains documentation to meet FDA requirements.

  • Communicates with customers in a timely fashion on supply issues.

  • Submits new product requests, updates pricing, updates vendor agreements and requests new manufacturers/vendors.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

  • Associate degree in Purchasing Management or a business-related field preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in purchasing, accounts, payable, supply chain or related field.

  • Experience in purchasing in a medical setting preferred.

  • Lawson Supply Chain experience preferred.

Credentials

  • Certified Purchasing Professional preferred.

Skills

  • Working knowledge of computer systems such as Microsoft Windows, and Microsoft Office programs.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to plan, prioritize and complete work in a fast-paced work environment with frequent interruptions.

Working Conditions

  • Buyer/Products Coord.: Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Consistently operates computer and other office equipment.

  • Central Supply Tech/Inventory Clerk: Ability to move around area. Frequent lifting up to 50lbs. Occasionally manipulating up to 100lbs. with assistance, to transport and stock assigned supplies and materials. Occasional bending, stooping, and climbing, reaching.

  • Predominantly operates in an office or warehouse/supply room environment.

  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.

  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
