Clark College Early Childhood Program Specialist 4 - Program Supervisor in Vancouver, Washington

Clark College is currently accepting applications for a full-time, permanent classified Early Childhood Program Specialist 4 - Program Supervisor.  This leadership position is responsible for day-to-day operations including planning, organizing, communicating, executing, and evaluating the activities and functions of the Early Learning Center. This includes policies, procedures, training, coaching and supervision of staff. This is a supervisory position in an early childhood childcare program/lab school in compliance with regulations and policies of the college, Washington State Childcare licensing, Early Achievers QRIS and any applicable accreditation. The Early Childhood Program Specialist 4 - Program Supervisor works closely with the Director and Leadership team in support of overall program design, implementation, and innovation. This position will participate collaboratively and professionally with staff and Clark Early Childhood Education faculty to promote the general well-being of the department and the college and uphold the mission, vision, and values of Child and Family Services and Clark College.   At Clark, we value equity, diversity, and inclusion.   • Support teachers to create quality teacher-child interactions and classroom environments supportive of play-based learning opportunities for optimal growth and development.
  • Arrange and/or provide mentoring, coaching, and training for teaching and support staff in both group, one-on-one settings and in classrooms.
  • Establish and maintain a positive team climate using a collaborative approach to accomplish program work.
  • Model highest standard of professional ethics, confidentiality and establish supportive relationships.
  • Oversee scheduling of children and staff for the early childhood program.
  • Yearly professional development plans with core staff to set goals for growth and celebrate success.
  • Ensure the compliant running of all services within the policy and procedures of Clark College and all state and federal governing agencies.
  • Oversee licensing, QRIS and accreditation preparation, communication, and follow up.
  • Support and develop operating policies and procedures under general supervision of director, including yearly handbook review.
  • Develop frameworks with leadership team and interpret program frameworks and policy to staff in the day-to-day operations of the program.
  • Prepare, maintain, and have oversight of the early childhood program records to support the rules and regulations of college policy and procedures and state licensing/QRIS and accreditation.
  • Ensure that staff maintain federal, state, and local rules, regulations and licensing, QRIS or other accreditation standards. 
  • Involvement with budget planning, as it relates to staffing, accreditation, and classrooms, in partnership with the Director and Fiscal Analyst.
  • Communicate regularly and have ongoing training and working relationships with Payroll, Human Resources, and other college departments.
  • Maintain public relations with parents, prospective clients, and colleagues with director.
  • Perform related duties as required.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND COMPENTENCIES: Candidates will be evaluated based on application materials, including the supplemental questions and personal interview(s), and will be required to demonstrate competencies in the following areas:

Bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education, Human Development or closely related field.

Two (2) years of  teaching experience. 

Two (2) years of supervisory experience and staffing experience.

Experience or knowledge of WA. Licensing, QRIS, Early Childhood Frameworks, and Accreditation.
